Going to be hard for GB to beat Denmark in the semi.  Need to find some rounder wheels for that one.

The one that always gets me is when Daniel Gabbidon commentates on football. He sounds like Tom Kerridge.

Loving the jumps in the horse olympics.

Really imaginative - Rio's were great but these are a step up [!] in quality

So the two Namibian athletes were ruled out of the 400m cos they have too much testosterone but are allowed to go in the 200m. What’s that all about?

    Did they run in 200m?

That is absurd if they then compete in the 200m!

All that nonsense before the Olympics about Laurel Hubbard and surprise surprise, she doesn't have much of an advantage.

How on earth have you reached that conclusion?

The talk about how transgender athletes were going to 'dominate' events and have an unfair advantage.

She didn't perform a single successful lift and the Chinese athlete has lifted more than Hubbard has in her lifetime.

The talk about how transgender athletes were going to 'dominate' events and have an unfair advantage.

She didn't perform a single successful lift and the Chinese athlete has lifted more than Hubbard has in her lifetime.

It's grossly unfair on the New Zealand athletes and other women who did not qualify based on that place being taken up by a person who was a man and competitive weightlifter until their mid 30s and now identifies as a women having taken their place based on inherent biological advantages.
Not true, Laurel Hubbard said she quit lifting when she was 21 and then only started lifting again after her transition.

So a previously non elite male athlete was able to qualify for the women’s competition.

Surely that’s more damming for this argument?

Even that doesn't mean she doesn't have an unfair advantage a) from being born male and b) from transitioning after puberty.

What is harder to determine is how much in what sports etc

Yes, you are right there... I'm wrong on that point and have edited my post above to reflect that.

She broke records as a junior male.

We don't know how she would have competed as an adult male.
