I've looked on LNER & whilst it says possible engineering works, none are presently in force to Lincoln. There is a bus replacement between Newcastle and Edinburgh.
If I can get a ticket will drive up for the weekend, as it costs me more to get to London that from London to Lincoln. Plus its a great city worth spending a few days there.

Yes, "normally located on one side..." as in, that's normal. If demand is so low, you are put somewhere else. Nothing about more seats if demand is high.

I know. See my comment above about the seats being made available to home fans if the away fans don't fill the end.
