Certainly quicker than 90 minutes watching Charlton. My problem is that James Bond is dead. That’s dead. 007 isn’t of course. We were reminded twice that it’s just a number. How can M, Q, Miss Moneypenny continue as if nothing has happened. They toasted to his memory. For me, if 007 is coming back as James Bond then something very drastic has to happen to reboot the franchise. They’ve got to try something completely new. Not just what they did when previous incarnations of Bond changed actors. We’ve never had to face that James Bond is dead and accept he’s suddenly back looking different. Confused. Thought the young black actress playing 007 would be a disaster if the idea is to continue with her. No credibility in the character at all. Heard suggestions that Amazon might be considering a series rather than blockbusters. That too would be a disaster.
Daniel Craig also played the role perfectly, snarky, cold, but also humorous and charming as well as being a double hard bastard.
I dont feel a particular affinity to the bond franchise as such beyond the last lot from casino royale onwards being excellent cinematic events, beautifully shot, proper big screen cinema stuff all embraced. I don’t care if the next set of films feature a black actor playing James Bond or a white actor, clearly the character is male but I think these last films did all that could be done with the character and gave him a proper arc and as cool as Sean Connery was he is second to Daniel Craig now
You're absolutely right that giving Craig a long-term arc has allowed him to become a definitive Bond. The others were never given that opportunity. It just means the franchise is painted into a corner for now. I wonder how long they'll wait for the next one - my guess is at least 3-4 years.1 -

Started this years ago when I watched pirates of the Caribbean on my own, solo, at 10am and I'm happy to continue to do so5 -

Do you know what, I can think of few things that make me more mentally balanced than knowing what aggravates me and avoiding it.
Of course that falls clean apart when I have to unavoidably participate in one of these things like a rush hour journey into London, food shopping, parking (always park miles away from where I'm going, away from all other cars and without fail I'll return and find some cocksucker has parked right next to me leaving 50 plus empty spaces), eating at somewhere like a harvester restaurant because my tight as arseholes father in law won't pay decent money for decent food and would rather eat a plate of human faeces if the portion was big and he got change from a tenner than pay more for better quality food and surroundings, and being in any queue where the dickhead behind me is incapable of respecting my personal space, swimming pools where people stand and chat rather than swim and gyms where people spend as much time talking selfies as any physical activity
Lockdown actually suited me quite well ;-)9 -

New Agent achieves 007 status.
Your code name is Bond, James Bond.
So long as James Bond remains a man, the story will continue.
If they go down the route of a female bond, it won't be James Bond 007 anymore and the series will be finished.0 -

take out the car chases and the gun battles and it left a very weak story line, Ian Fleming would turn in his grave!2

Way too long.
Plot all over the place.
Rami Malik is a massive over acting ham.
Guessed Bond was snuffing it a mile off.
Daniel Craig’s pouting is awful and at its worse in this film. But still enjoyed it.2 -

Big fan of Daniel Craig as Bond. Probably my favourite Bond actor now. Casin Royale by far the best for me. The next 3 difficult to split but all great and entertaining. I saw them all at least twice at the cinema and Casino Royale 3 times. This was by far the most boring of the 5 films he made as Bond. My partner is going to see it again tomorrow but I couldn’t bring myself to sit through it again.1

Who'd of thought that Bond was in fact a mixed race, gender neutral, refugee with a degree in knitting...

Not normally the biggest Bond fan but I really enjoyed it - a strong storyline.1

I saw it in Bluewater in one of the posh reclining chairs, One thing pissed me off was how unbearingly loud it was, not during the film itself but all the poxy trailers (god theres some awful films incoming) and all the bleeding awful adverts which go on forever and ever.

Who untied the sea-plane from the mooring when he pushed the Ruskie inside and hopped in ?0

Really impressive stuff. Craig's finest hour. Location cinematography was excellent. The gadgets, stunts and pace of the plót. and even the script was pretty good. The wokeometer rang a bit but not overly so.
I took my daughter and was surprised to find a beautiful father/daughter theme ran through the story also.
A great story of self sacrifice for others. A man for his family. How rare to see this in this age.
We need much more of this kind of entertainment. An enjoyable film for all the family.2 -
