I’ve been to see it twice, the worst bit was a kid in our row getting up to get up to go out to the loo, once or twice I get, but 5 times c’mon that’s taking the ….
Watched (well fell asleep during them , cos I’m old ) all the Bond films in lockdown up till saving the penultimate one to a couple of weeks ago . Went to see this today 11.40 in Woodford prolly 10 people there including mrs and I thoroughly enjoyed it . Not really a film buff but nostalgically love a bit of Bond . Father in law blurted out he dies when he went to see it a week or two back ffs shut up you stupid old Cnut , I told him no spoilers but I still had a little well up in the end .
Avoided this thread last couple of weeks not wanting to have it spoiled. I hadn’t even even take in the title was ‘No Time to Die’ until it flashed up on screen.
Thought it was a great film. Fascinating reading this thread after and seeing the different views, largely by people who know a hell of a lot more about films and the franchise than me.
Craig has been a fantastic Bond but never really thought of the point that he’s benefited from continuity that previous Bond actors didn’t have.
I come out the cinema thinking that he was alive, firstly as in my head Bond just never dies (that’s the point), and secondly if they 100% wanted to leave the story with him dead then they would have shown him dying / dead, or some form of funeral. Reading this though it seems like I’m wrong and the blubbers in the cinema were right
What I’ve also learnt is that my bladder has aged terribly in two years, that I struggle to watch films without subtitles yet though some of the action scenes were too loud, and that the amount of popcorn I’m finding inside my shirt is bordering on farcical.
Really impressive stuff. Craig's finest hour. Location cinematography was excellent. The gadgets, stunts and pace of the plót. and even the script was pretty good. The wokeometer rang a bit but not overly so.
I took my daughter and was surprised to find a beautiful father/daughter theme ran through the story also.
A great story of self sacrifice for others. A man for his family. How rare to see this in this age.
We need much more of this kind of entertainment. An enjoyable film for all the family.
OK boomer
When people say that on Reddit I accept it’s an American site and I have to deal with it. But I’m not having it here. Get out!

So true re the subtitles , I watch everything on my iPad , I can , with subtitles
Not sure on my opinion of the film. Two big observations, didn’t like the character of the baddy and had too many actions scenes. Will think about it throughout the day.
Saw it today at Everyman Canary Wharf (which I wholeheartedly recommend) - I made the mistake of opening this thread when it started, so saw the ‘when he died comment’ - hey ho - good film, the baddie wasn’t good though, some pretty brutal shoot ups, the replacement 007 was rubbish, Craig the best Bond by a mile, back story to Madeleine was good
For me it’s not the best Craig Bond - I think Skyfall and Spectre are better - but still an excellent film
Is it me but have the henchmen in the Craig films been generally, well, a bit rubbish? I am not looking for cartoonish Jaws or Odd Jobs, but at least ones who aren't defeated by a hot cup of tea.

I dunno, those Nigerian gangsters from casino royale meant business until they got launched down some stairs and the grunty man Dave Batista played was good too
Thought it was absolute rubbish. Could not wait for film to finish and if I'd known the other half felt the same, we would have walked out. Give me one of the early Bond films any time.
I liked it. I’ve enjoyed the modern movies overall, but Casino Royale was definitely the best. Not sure how I’d rank Skyfall, Spectre and No Time To Die, but Quantum of Bollocks was fucking dreadful.
Enjoyed it, can’t believe bond has gone as the films are James Bond 007, got a sneaky feeling that the tracker in his neck and the virus will somehow react enabling him to be found and resurrected

A friend called it the best Bond ever, but I can't agree with that. It's not the worst - I liked the pace of the film, but I thought the baddies weren't that great. I blame the writers not the actors for this. I may have missed something but I didn't understand why the bad guy just let the little girl go at the end. I also don't like the way Bond has to keep falling in love, but I guess it has to be like that in 2021...
Quick question: have the producers fallen out with Aston Martin? They keep destroying the DB5.

I don't really understand your point here - Bond's been getting the girl since the series began?
Or do you mean in 2021 he has to fall in love rather than just being a bit of a womanizer like he was in the past?
Although he did get married and fall in love in the older films too
Does Bond definitely die for at the end? I thought it was left intentionally ambiguous.
There was no ambiguity about how he died!
Did you see him dead?
That’s a fair point - perhaps the next film will start with M knowing that Bond is alive, but pretending he is dead so that Bond can operate ‘in the shadows’

I believe he only got married once (George Lazenby/Diana Rigg iirc), which was heavily referenced in the latest film. I could be wrong, I often am.
I guest I feel that to be truer to the original books (which is probably asking a bit much!) he should be more of a womanizer, but it's not even that - I'm sure that in one scene he was looking longingly off into the distance, thinking about his love - is that what he's become?
And another thing, he surely should have no ties which can be exploited by those awful bad guys?

I saw him with a virus that was about to kill him on an island that was blown to smithereens. If the next bond starts with him surviving that then it will be ridiculous.
I'm convinced the next film will be a complete reboot with a lesser known actor.

So you are willing to suspend disbelief for the multiple completely improbable things that happened throughout the film, but this is where you draw the line?

Bond has been replaced at MI6. He doesn’t have a job or a purpose any more. He comes back for one last job. At the end Bond gets told he can never go near the woman he loves or the daughter he’s just found out about. Bond gets shot several times. Bond then resigns himself to the fact that only he can make it possible for a world-ending virus to be destroyed and to do so he has to be blown up by the air strike he’s calling in. Bond then has a heartbreaking conversation before very visibly being engulfed by the flames of an explosion that destroys everything in sight - a shot that caught my attention because it was quite shocking - and SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED TO AVOID AMBIGUITY because director Cary Fukunaga knows that audiences expect Bond to always escape.
We then see his heartbroken friends/ colleagues toast his sacrifice. And finally, we know that Daniel Craig has retired the role. But…
Does Bond definitely die for at the end? I thought it was left intentionally ambiguous.
I was once told that in storytelling or writing I should play it safe at all times so that everybody, no matter how stupid, can understand it. I even thought about that during this Bond because we had the plot spelt out relentlessly. So I thought that was terrible advice and we should give people more credit. Today I finally changed my mind.

A fitting end to the Daniel Craig Bond era. Whoever comes in next to play the next Bond/007 is going to have big shoes to fill!
I also had a lump in the throat as the end credits rolled!!!
