Lancashire pulls a goal back from a good Doyle free kick
No shame in conceding to an entire county.

77' SUB  Final change of the night for the Addicks as Dempsey replaces Clare. #cafc 3 #saintsfc 1
  • CBT almost an assist straight away!
  • Morgan to CBT, a great cross but Stockley's header is saved

CBT, a player let go by a League Two club signed to a six month deal has arguably looked our most dangerous winger this season.

Ben Dempsey on for Sean Clare.

    Pleased for him

Dont see the point of him being here now if he doesnt get some First Team minutes.
Although seems like it was enforced as sounds like Burstow was going to be the last sub

78' Almost a hat-trick for Stockley as he meets Blackett-Taylor's centre at the far post, but Bycroft is equal to his header. #cafc 3 #saintsfc 1

Alarmingly lack of fitness again. Some of this mob looked dead on their feet from 65 mins. Really poor 2nd half.

Worth pointing out that Johnnie Jackson is in charge for this game.

Adkins is up in the stands next to Roddy.
Who selected  the team ? I never understood why managers don't sit in the stands. Curbs had Keith in the stand with a phone.
A couple of us discussed this same point on the pre-match thread.

Adkins is sitting on the bench with JJ, has been the whole game
    I have been deceived!
Is it cold in London tonight or has everyone in the photo got the hump with each other?

Stockley is so poor at controlling the ball with his feet 🤣

Wonder how much compensation we'll have to pay Tranmere

82' Purrington strikes the upright after latching onto a deep cross. #cafc 3 #saintsfc 1
  • CBT is such a good crosser of the ball!
  • Purrington hits the post after good work from Morgan and CBT

Im at the game behind them sitting on the bench. Not sure at what point he was sitting up there.

CBT wasn't developed by Tranmere though.

He was an Aston Villa trainee and U21.

Do we have an option with CBT to keep him for at least the rest of the season? If not I hope they're working on something already

Our purely defensive left back adds a goal to his assist
Must be the most prolific Full-Back we've ever had?
No that was the guy who scored a hat trick
on his debut or Mark Reid.
I know. Mar Reid scored a few though.  Kinsey also but left wing before switching.  Hewie maybe ?
Impressive stats from all three... Just checked Wiki so might not be accurate but:

    Mark Reid (15) | Brian Kinsey (19) | John Hewie (37)
Mark Reid was our regular penalty taker.

Brian Kinsey scored most of his goals as a left winger.

John Hewie played every position for Charlton - including goalkeeper, although he didn't score many in goal.

Bob Curtis has to have scored most as a full back. He was, in my opinion, our best ever penalty taker and did play at CB as well but I do remember him once scoring from about 35 yards at home. Think it might have been against Southampton
I think he actually scored from about 65 yards. A free kick well in our half, no idea who against though.

Just the look of someone in London

Go on the Underground and its a classic expression of everyone on there

You'd have to be a brave man to make eye contact with them

Tariqe Fosu wasnt developed by Charlton - We still got compensation when he went to Oxford as he was U23

You have to ask the question of why.  This has been a problem for nearly two years now.  Some games we start like we have been on a 20 miles run that morning, almost every game we are blowing out of arses well before an hour, some times in the first half.

What ever we do with them it isn't right.

No way, he keeps hitting the woodwork

The 17 year old Bob Curtis wonder goal?

I believe it was against Middlesbrough in a 2-2 draw at The Valley, October 1967.

If I've muddled my opponents slightly, then it was otherwise against Carlisle Utd, another 2-2 draw - both games at The Valley, only a couple of weeks apart.
    Definitely October 1967 though.

Dobson has to be ahead of Watson in the pecking order. Don't get why he's not at least been on the bench.
