  • Fantastic performance. Every single player worked their bollocks off for 96 mins. That’s all we want to see!

Special mention for LEKO who I thought was our best player.

The way we managed the game at the end was top draw!

If Jackson can get us working that hard week in week out, I’d take him all day long.

Been crying out for Dobson to play….shows how much Adkins knew
  • We were even better than when went up there back in April and won 2-1

That game felt like a smash and grab - Today though, we bloody deserved that lead and more

Everyone: Give it to Jackson he will go back to basics, 442.

Jackson: Charlton will play 314fucking2 or something!

Did anyone suggest that the way to keep a clean sheet was to play without full backs?
    @Dazzler21 to be fair 😂
  • Go on Jacko. Huge win and performance. Cannot wait to scroll through social media and watch some of the videos this weekend.

Not only a win but an actual good performance to boot. And a goal from Stockley who really needed one.

Can't really get too carried away by a single result but by God that's put such a smile on my face.

Some of the standout performers today were Purrington, Matthews, Dobson and to a lesser extent Washington. All brought in today by JJ. Awesome.

Totally different team. Determined,  organised,  threatening,  sharp.

    Superb performance.

Nigel Adkins must be super pissed off . They haven’t played like that all season.
    Fantastic performance.
Reminded me of the performances we produced under Bows in the first half of the championship season .

I did indeed, but didn't expect us to put Matthews RCB!

We'd have slaughtered Bowyer for that, today it worked and I'm so pleased

Did we ever have a fitness issue or was it players not wanting to go the extra mile before? Can't have all got fit since Adkins went.

Curbs said on comms what I was going to open with: huge shout out to Dobson. He did all the dirty work in front of the back four and kept things ticking over. We've lacked a mobile holding midfielder with Arter and Watson aging and Clare more box to box and Morgan just not a holding midfielder. Dobson has shown it in the cup but I wasn't sure it would translate as there is so much more time and space in those games. It translated and then some.

Such better organization as a team. Such better passing and actually working the ball through the midfield. Having Washington up top to chase and link with Stockers, and allow Stockers to drop deep and pull out wide, makes a huge, huge difference. It stretches defenses and makes the opposition less compact back to front. That creates space in the midfield for Gilbey and Lee to operate in, and then hit Leko out wide.

Great team performance. Never would have thought of Leko as a RWB but he had a massive tackle in the first half and massive header in the second.

Johnnie Jackson's red and white army!

What a win, what a performance, what a guy!!! Season starts now? Bodies on the line, grit and a clean sheet!!!! Three things we’ve not had in the past 12/13 games this season. Get in.

    Great interview with Dobson
  • It’s quite simple for me - Jacko wins games. Jacko keeps the job.

By definition today is a pretty good start. I will bite someone’s hand off for 20th at the moment so we can reset and go again next year. Every three points is massive so well done all!

Yeah saying that the formation and the high press really helped today - Didnt someone say recently that Adkins had a very old school approach of not pressing high like a lot of Managers do now?

Dobson on CTV with a little dig at Lee Johnson for letting him go
  • Great result. My god Sunderland must hate us. Dobson was first class today. Well done.
