We've never had complete freedom of speech in this country. There are always limits, and it doesn't seem unreasonable to prevent protesting against the monarchy in a place where monarchists and others are mourning the Queen. There are plenty of places where people can protest without causing so much offence, if they wish.
I'd be staggered if any of the protesters are actually prosecuted, unless any of them have used or incited violence. The police are just preventing the peace from being disturbed, and avoiding the risk that some angry monarchist will smack someone who they think is being disrespectful. Which is one of the things the police are there for. They're in a very difficult position but, unlike some other protests in the past, I think they're doing a good job on striking a balance.
But most of these aren't protesting , it's more of a look at me. The fella with Prince Andrew yesterday, his had a couple of years to heckle him and shout abuse.

Prince Andrew has barely made a public appearance since the news of his transgressions broke in 2019. To say the protestors had years to heckle him but chose to wait until now is plainly wrong.

the dozy bint with the chip shop that turned out to be a rather expensive bottle of bubbly as she has now lost her business
I fear the protests may ramp up now as the amount of coverage they are getting
?
a woman in Scotland opened a bottle of bubbly and had a derogatory sign up regarding the queens passing - had her chip shop smashed up and as been removed from the trade body of fish friars.
Jaki chip shop if you google it shows video etc i wont post it on here
God our veneer of civilisation really is wafer thin.
Odeon cinemas in the UK will also close on the day, reopening on Tuesday, while Hollywood Bowl said it will close until 13:30 on Monday.
Supermarket chain Asda has joined a string of supermarkets in announcing that it too will shut its stores on Monday until 17:00. Online deliveries will not be offered on the day either.
Meanwhile, Curry's has confirmed that it will close all of its stores across the UK on the day.
Other major businesses that have said they will be shut in the UK on Monday to mark the proceedings include:
Aldi
Argos
B&Q
Blue Diamond Garden Centres
Harrods
Homebase
Ikea
John Lewis
Lidl
Morrisons
Primark
Sainsbury's (however, Sainsbury's convenience stores and petrol filling stations will be open from 17:00 until 22:00 while select stores in central London will open to serve people attending the funeral)
Larger Tesco shops (the company's smaller Express shops will open at 17:00, but a small number of stores in central London and Windsor will remain open throughout the day to provide for people attending the funeral)
Waitrose (a small number of Waitrose stores along the route of the procession may remain open)
WH Smith high street stores (the company's travel stores will be closed at least for the duration of the funeral)
Asking guests due to check in Monday to come a day late is understandable, but apparently if you're there over the Monday they are chucking people out for the day then letting them come back Tuesday!
Very off, who knows how far away those people have travelled from. Surely you'd just say facilities won't be open but you're welcome to stay in the lodge?

in a commerical world you need to have staff on site 24/7 no one wants to be that company that made staff miss the queens funeral.

Don't make them then, offer bank holiday double time on a voluntary basis to make up a skeleton staff.
I'm sure there would be enough staff happier at more money for a quieter work day than having the day off & watching the funeral to make up the numbers.
Not in every business you understand, but ones like that where a bit of common sense could go a long way.

And just about every business will have a skeleton staff working anyway. There will still be security staff even if everyone else is off.

Our little piece of the UK, the British school in Madrid, will be closed for the day of the funeral. Although most of our students are Spanish I am glad we are doing so as we represent the UK and its institutions here and also the Queen was our patron.
On Wednesday 14th September, some flights between 13:50-15:40 will be disrupted to ensure silence over central London as the ceremonial procession moves from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall. Passengers affected by this will be contacted by their airline.
Throughout the period of national mourning, further changes can be expected at the airport, including:
Observing the National Moment of Reflection with a one-minute silence at 8pm on Sunday 18 September.
Showing Her Majesty the Queen’s funeral on screens at [Heathrow] airport on Monday 19 September.

He'll go back into hiding sitting on his millionaire Royal pension after this. Won't have to deal with the adult riff-raff ever again.
Possibly
Prince Andrew might get sideline promoted to Duke of Woolwich

Well I was 😂
I'm likely to stick with it now and can see its appeal.
