Yes i just came on here to say the same.. what a coincidence that he got to stand at the front of the queue while they changed! But at least he queued. Has played a blinder.
He looked knackered and upset all at once but still disgustingly handsome.
i work literally 100 yards from the back wall of buckingham palace , been in the office all week and haven't been over there yet - queueing for hours on end to see a coffin seems absolutely bizzarre to me - unless i knew the person of course - i wouldn't queue for half hour to meet all the heads of state and the royal family but each to their own - we all value different things and to me royalty and religion makes zero sense but as i say, each to their own - i'm gonna have a stroll through St James park now anyway, see whats what.

Amongst the crowd I think there is likely a mixture of genuine desire to pay their last respects, curiosity, and a sense of history in wanting to have been there/done it. All valid.

Same, I can’t contemplate standing for 12 hours for it. I work in Parliament so was lucky enough to be able to walk straight in yesterday. Did feel like a bit of a cheat in doing so, but there aren’t loads of perks to working in the public sector and I know how fortunate I was. It’s quite a spectacle, as I’m sure Monday will be too.

Yep - a lot of fomo - mainly women tbh - joined a queue and eventually managed to break free about an hour later by blagging through an entrance you weren’t allowed out of behind some officials I said I was with - saw naff all other than buck palace which I see all the time - oils have been trapped walking round green park for hours - a bit like ikea but outdoors

We’re doing a job in new palace yard and I’ve been in the hall quite a bit over the last few years - great buildings, great city just don’t really get the grief for somebody u don’t know but as I say, each to their own
Imagine how the people there now feel. Queuing since whatever time for hours and now seeing the majority of the royal family including the King guarding her.
Just been to Windsor with the family to lay some flowers and pay our respects. A beautiful evening and an atmosphere of quiet contemplation in my local town. The worlds press are gathering ahead of Monday which will no doubt be a momentous and emotional occasion.

That was moving to watch on tv, so it must have been even more moving to actually be there to witness.
A man has been detained in Westminster Hall following a "disturbance", police say.
According to a statement from the Metropolitan Police in London, officers detained a man in the hall where the Queen is lying in state at around 22:00 local time on Friday.
"He was arrested for an offence under the Public Order Act and is currently in custody," the statement reads.
It is unclear exactly what's happened in Westminster Hall. We'll report more as we hear it.
Unconfirmed reports suggest the man went up the steps to the catafalque and may have touched the coffin.
Attended Parliament Square this evening to see the Royals arrive. Huge crowds on every part of Westminster. Great welcome for the first to arrive ~ The Wessex's. I had to move shortly after but the enormous booing minutes later, I can only guess, was for Meghan and Harry. Can anyone confirm that? Seems to tally with what was witnessed at the Platinum celebrations too. It was pretty bad cacophony of boos. Reminded me of late-tenure Duchatelet era!

There have been many positives to come from this period of mourning and the country coming together. Nearly a complete woke-free zone. Happy & Glorious!
Fair play to all peeps wanting to be in that queue for 14+ hrs, not for me, for come next week them same people will be the ones moaning about queuing for a train bus, queuing for a till at Tesco or a bloody petrol pump…🫣,but honestly I do see on the interviews shown after that it was a great one off moving experience for them & that’s why hats off & fair play to them all…👏👏,oh we do love a queue us Brits…
Just watched an awe inspiring BBC clip showing pretty much every high profile leader in the modern world filing past Her Majesty in state and paying their respects. Showing them arriving at Buckingham Palace. Watching their addresses to our nation.
There is no country like ours and no monarchy that captures the wonder of the world like ours.
One of the most emotional things I have seen for a long time
Anyone else planning to go into London for the funeral?
We’re thinking of it, but a little unsure about where to go specifically. Not expecting to see much considering the literal hundreds of thousands of people all doing the same thing.
But having missed out on the chance to do the queue or go to Buckingham Palace, there’s part of me that feels the need to take part in some way - if anything, just to be present for one of the most historical moments in our lives.
