If I had to make a prediction, I reckon Arter’s loan will get terminated, and we’ll loan a forward of some sort.
I think/hope TS realises that promotion is unlikely, and maybe holds off on spending another couple of hundred grand on a mid season signing like we did last year, that unfortunately didn’t work out.
Some of you may be more optimistic than I am about putting a run together, but we’ve had a few poor performances like Plymouth & Shrewsbury. We’d have to go like the clappers and pretty much turn in performances like we did against Ipswich & Plymouth at home every week, and I can’t see that happening unless we added substantial quality.
I think finish as high as we can without adding any more permanents who may or may not work out, get to the summer, and then let Jacko have a fresh go of it with his squad
TS said he expects to sign one young player permanently, maybe two. Also one loan.
I believe that this his expectation, and although so many things could go wrong, I do think we seem better organised this year. I think the one permanent and the loan is already in motion, with the second permanent more of a maybe.
We are in fairly good shape for next season as for a change, some of our better performers are under contract and we finally get to say goodbye to some plain oldies.

Be shocked if Arter is here past the 5th January. Nailed on to go on Day 1 of the window.
What is the fascination with bringing back former players. Wired has done reasonably well for colchester but it is not like he is tearing up league 2. My guess is the Forest link is agent leaking a fake link to the press as a negotiation tactic

If reports are to be believed, he is tearing up League 2 and a Championship move is very much on the cards in the next year. He's a defensive midfielder if you're judging him by his goals/assists.
Like Jordan Zemura, the club have shot themselves in the foot by letting Wiredu go. Who makes these decisions?
I’ve seen him play a couple of times for Colchester and he seems to be finding it too easy at that level. I’d be surprised if he came back.
In this instance presumably Bowyer. But in general far far more of these decisions are right than wrong. The few who do make it stand out because of their rarity.
He got plenty of pre-season minutes and looked handy but then never really got near the first team. I would love to have him back and think he would be the perfect puzzle piece to play alongside Dobson and co in the middle of the park.
Unfortunately, if there's Championship interest, it won't simply be a case of buying him back with the clause and selling him on. Wiredu will want to make the switch directly you would have thought.

I do not believe that there were many, if any, that wanted him to leave but finance’s at the time made it necessary, hence the buy back clause. If we do not sign him back I expect a very large slice of the fee.
Bring Weirdu back and send Morgan on loan to Colchester to soften the blow of them losing him. Keep that relationship going as they could be handy for us in future. Brendan is miles better than Albie and that’s not me being harsh, I just feel he’s a better player and will go further in the game.
Haven't we got first call on him? He can only go somewhere if we decide not to bring him back?
I think we did have a buy back in his contract and he would suit our formation.
I believe you're right. Something written into the sale about us having 1st option if Colchester wanted to sell.
Pretty meaningless really. If there’s competition for his signature we’d still have match any offers Colchester and the player received in order to get him.

First you want to weaken them by taking their best player, then you want to weaken them even more by giving them Morgan!

It depends on what the contract says. If it says that if the player is sold, we have the first rights to buy back the player and will pay a fixed fee of £150k, then it would be irrelevant if Forest offered £500k
We could of course buy him for £150k and then sell him to Forest for £500k if we wanted
I assume Colchester got him from us for peanuts, so would still make a profit
Why would Wiredu agree to join us purely to be sold on for profit? I think most buy backs have a set fee but if there’s Championship interest he’s not coming back

Young and very good.
I wonder if there would be any chance.
Depends on what the terms of that permanent signing actually were.
