I think with Famewo we just have to accept that he can't pass the ball. He has to be the best defender in the league. Norwich will want him back
I think most of us have, one of the few who hadn't was yourself. It's League 1, there's very few players without obvious weaknesses. The terms of the permanent agreement will be interesting as we should 100% sign up. Might need to be in the Championship for that to happen.
What a game! After our dominant 1st half with no reward, I was worried we might get caught out against the run of play and lose in front of the big crowd (we've seen it so many times). But no, the players battled for JJ and us, and got what we deserved. Announce Jacko...please
Absolutely gutted I wasn't there today as I tested positive for
Covid Really wanted to take my boy to a packed valley for once.
Brilliant performance by the boys today so nice to see a proper team
again. Coyr
Hope you've just got a mild case @Nicholas, and that there'll be another close to full house in the near future to take him to.
Good results from the next couple (?) of away games and the next one up at home is Ipswich who have already sold out their away end so i suspect there may well be a very good turnout
One really great thing from today was the potential it could have to help build our support. A few times when we were winning in the second half and the place was rocking my attention was drawn to the lower part of the the north end of the East Stand and the rows upon rows of young kids that were having the time of their lives. If even but a few of those youngsters find their way back to the Valley on a regular basis it will be a brilliant outcome.
When you arrange these sorts of games with some incentive to bolster the attendance success will in a large part come down to the uncertainty of the on the field performance on the day regardless of how good the planning and execution are. Pleased for all those who grafted to make todays initiative possible that their efforts were rewarded with interest.
A word for the defence as well. What they’ve been able to do over the last five games, with how many injuries they’ve suffered has been amazing. Four clean sheets in five is massive.
The turn around in fortunes is almost unbelievable and a lot of credit has to go to Jacko for cracking the code.
I notice that both Plymouth and Rotherham have adopted the same 3-5-2/3-1-4-2 type formation. Wigan are using it too. The league’s top three teams. Maybe Jacko took some inspiration from that, believing that we have more quality in our squad to do what they do, but better.

Thanks mate just ate a teaspoon of English mustard for the sake of it tasted nothing 🤦♂️
Been working all day so just got in and catching up with the result and views. It's astonishing how things have turned around in the last month and, as someone who's been a little sceptical about the new manager 'bounce' previously, I'm very pleased to see it quite so clearly in action.
Gilbey Lee and Dobson is the best thing since sliced bread.
But seriously though, Pearce was a rock and I did worry when he went off if it would mean Akin returned to his old ways but he stepped up. That shoulder to shoulder that sent the Plymouth player flying was the best bit of the afternoon.
Clare had his best performance for us and DJ was awesome for 60mins but faded.
We could and should have won that at a canter.
My concern is now will teams adjust to us and put bodies behind the ball.
Give him the job. He should have had it yesterday.
Today was brilliant, it was one of those rare occasions where everything clicked. The owner was in town, the Valley was packed out, the team was blinding and we comfortably beat the top of the league.
That win wouldn’t have felt as special if we had Wilder, Harris or Beale in charge. We’ve got two legends at the helm, don’t let this opportunity slip through our fingers. I don’t know where we’ll end up, but I want to be on the ride.

Ah man sorry to hear you missed that. Just got over it myself and self isolation finished last Thursday midnight. Would have have been gutted to miss that if self isolation had lasted longer. And everything tasting like paint eased up this morning too.
Took my little girl today, only her second game since we beat Derby 3-0 (lucky charm) and she was standing on the seat and going mental, clapping and shouting allez allez allez, and I’m not gonna lie, I got a bit choked up.
It’s absolutely mental that I’m feeling like this just weeks after we got stuffed 4-0 at home and I hated everyone in the squad.
Important tactical change by Jackson at half time. We stopped going wide and crossing the ball as that didn't work in the first half, although the crosses were coming in, and of quality, their centre halves were dealing with it comfortably. We played much more centrally, on the floor and started cutting them open in that way, and the centre halves started to struggle.
All round perfect performance from all the players and well done Jacko for spotting this slight tweak.
Today was wonderful and by the end I felt positively euphoric....what a buzz to hear a full Valley fizzing again and see so many smiling people at the final whistle.
There were excellent performances throughout; the desire and drive, as well as the movement, is something to behold - the transformation under JJ is truly phenomenal, not least in some of the players who had almost been written off under Adkins - Tommy must be pinching himself. Make no mistake, today is a highly significant result against a team who have been pretty much sweeping all opposition aside all season. What a transformation!
However, one of the things that made today so satisfying was that there were hordes of kids sitting around us who were friends and families of some of our fellow ST holders - and they had the time of their lives. They were clapping, singing and dancing about and it was a joy to behold.....some of them had never been before, but they will sure as hell want to come again. Knowing that these ticket promotion events often fall flat as we predictably fluff our lines; to have such a positive, enjoyable atmosphere and a winning result is the best result we could have hoped for.
Well done Tommy for grasping this opportunity - I reckon I saw some lifelong Addicks in the making today and that is even more precious than three lovely points!
Sometimes, I think that it is easy to forget how good it can be when it gets good in SE7; today was a fantastic reminder.

Please give it to JJ, we got our Charlton back.
Your girl has a 5-0 aggregate score when coming to the Valley? Get her a season ticket!

Someone needs to take her to Morecambe. I'm sure school won't mind

I asked her if she wants to come against Ipswich, she said ‘maybe’. Little mug!
That was fantastic. It’s hard to really add more to what has already been said.
I have to admit that I’m not usually a fan of the ‘offer’ games, but I did get a bit of a kick out of seeing non football/Charlton fans with their mouths wide open at the sheer atmosphere around them in that 2nd half. That stuff makes me proud of our club when it works.

So far, he’s not wrong.
I'll hold my hands up and admit i wasn't sure about JJ taking over as he was supposedly our defensive coach under Adkins.
Well clearly Nige didn't listen to anything he must've said, as they look like a completely different side and have gone from shipping 2-3 every game to barely giving away a clear cut chance.
Something very special is happening. Jackson simply must get the job.
I think there'll be serious fan backlash if he doesn't
Wasn't there. Fantastic result. Must have been great to be there. However, following on Charlton Life meant I was haunted throughout the game by the fact of the photo that showed Neil Harris was there. It kept reverberating about Thomas's words during the week as the performance just got better and better. I hope and pray the die is not cast. It will be a massive own goal, Thomas. Fkin brilliant Charlton , love it!

What a clever turn and glorious ball from Elliott Lee to send Washington away for the 2nd goal.

It's like a different club!

That's what going to football is about. That's why we do it - for days like today.
Though I would have asked Paul Walsh to step out and take the photo!
