He's not an idiot but he seems very naïve at a football level. I don't understand why he even named Michael Beale & also talked about managers at an even higher level. The sooner he gets an experienced football CEO in, shuts up & just enjoys the games, the better. Until JJ is announced I will worry.1968CAFC said:
I don’t think the owner is an IdiotCH4RLTON said:The biggest worry for me now is that if Sandgaard commits footballing suicide amd gives the job to somebody else. We already know he’s a bit of a maverick and won’t worry about doing his own thing if his ego tells him to, the concern is that if he did he could kill dead all this monmemtum in one hit. Fingers crossed he sees sense and does the right thing
And only an Idiot would not give JJ the managers, as he is a natural tactician genius 👍👍👍19 -
What a performance! I love you Jacko. You’re the man.2

I know most L1 teams would have struggled with us today, but I must admit I expected more from Plymouth today. Looked a fair way short of Rotherham the other week9

Can't believe that we only had 37% possession. Oh well it's about quality not quantity......at least that's what I keep telling my wife 😁3

Those stats are bullshit. I've always thought they just make them up.The Prince-e-Paul said:Can't believe that we only had 37% possession. Oh well it's about quality not quantity......at least that's what I keep telling my wife 😁7 -

Or release it on youtube so everyone can see it. The Sunderland game was on there in full just a couple of days after the actual game.BlackburnCharlton said:Oh and can we have some videos please0 -
Great to see Sean Clare get Tracey Leaburn in on the tunnel jump and the covered end give her a shout of Leaburn! Leaburn!

See, I never saw it like that, but your TRAIN of thought is for you. Not my favourite colour either. Bit scummy.AFKABartram said:

Cheers mate glad you got over it 👍1StevieG said:
Ah man sorry to hear you missed that. Just got over it myself and self isolation finished last Thursday midnight. Would have have been gutted to miss that if self isolation had lasted longer. And everything tasting like paint eased up this morning too.Nicholas said:
Thanks mate just ate a teaspoon of English mustard for the sake of it tasted nothing 🤦♂️aliwibble said:Just following up with something from the match thread
That should be centre back, surely?NornIrishAddick said:Will young Master Stockley have to play full back on his return?
Hope you've just got a mild case @Nicholas, and that there'll be another close to full house in the near future to take him to.Nicholas said:Absolutely gutted I wasn't there today as I tested positive for Covid
Really wanted to take my boy to a packed valley for once.
Brilliant performance by the boys today so nice to see a proper team

Now I've calmed down I'll post without hyperbole
That might have been the most complete performance I can recall from a Charlton Athletic side of the last 20 years. Plymouth are a good, good side and Ryan Lowe was my choice after Bow left, we haven't just totally dominated, out fought, out worked and out played a mickey mouse team.
Ben Purrington is in the form of his life, Elliot Lee is a true legend in the making, truly he is playing below himself but he is such a good example with his work rate. Akin Famewo was a tower at the back and dominated a very decent number 9. DJ completely roasted their left side and ran himself into the ground. Connor Washington remained a threat throughout and whilst George Dobson/the white Kante has set his bar really high and had another inspirational game today. And Alex Gilbey has also made himself undroppable, truly sets the standard for lung busting runs.
I'm so so happy with the turnaround and more than anything the absolute effort and desire being displayed, thats all I ever want from a Charlton team and to see some of the genuinely decent footballers we have leaving it all put there every game makes us a horrible prospect for anyone in the league47 -
Fantastic performance today out thought and out fought a decent side.
Took my 2 youngest Grandsons today and they loved it, they definitely will be back.
To Thomas I say thank you for your gesture of free tickets for season ticket holders. Now don’t fuck it up, just give JJ the job.18 -
Yes. They seemed like rabbits in headlights for first 30 mins. Defended well enough in their own box but on the ball, the over-hit passes into touch, showed they were nervous.AFKABartram said:I know most L1 teams would have struggled with us today, but I must admit I expected more from Plymouth today. They didn't look totally hopeless though and could well just have had an off day. Jephcott only being sub must've helped our cause.
That's the thing...you only normally see each team once or twice. Anyone who saw us earlier in the season would've said we were shite. Wycombe fans for instance, can't have been impressed. The beauty of the season, is that it is so long....much can and always does, change.5 -

Bloody brilliant. First game I've streamed live this season. Were the players really the same ones I saw back in September when I was at The Valley? Wow. They were so fantastic, it's led to me getting quite drunk. We went after the match to friends for an 'aperatif' and I just had to tell them about the match, and I was getting tears in my eyes - unbelievable - overwhelming.........6 -
11/2 for top 6 looks tasty4

Got 3 tickets in the NW corner and gave them to Mrs GA cousin (he’s Charlton) living in Essex, he took his two boys (8&5) to their first game, they had a great time, learnt a few new words. Kitted out in new Charlton hats & scarves and wanting to go again.36

If only Thomas had played his guitar...ElliotCAFC said:Give him the job. He should have had it yesterday.Today was brilliant, it was one of those rare occasions where everything clicked. The owner was in town, the Valley was packed out, the team was blinding and we comfortably beat the top of the league. That win wouldn’t have felt as special if we had Wilder, Harris or Beale in charge. We’ve got two legends at the helm, don’t let this opportunity slip through our fingers. I don’t know where we’ll end up, but I want to be on the ride.
Wrecked it for me...

Perhaps Neil came along to learn something...BlackburnCharlton said:
Wasn't there. Fantastic result. Must have been great to be there. However, following on Charlton Life meant I was haunted throughout the game by the fact of the photo that showed Neil Harris was there. It kept reverberating about Thomas's words during the week as the performance just got better and better.Gravesend_Addick said:Something very special is happening. Jackson simply must get the job.
I think there'll be serious fan backlash if he doesn't
I hope and pray the die is not cast.
It will be a massive own goal, Thomas.
Fkin brilliant Charlton , love it!0 -
Thing is as well, these 5 games were a bit of a free hit, 3 of the 5 we played were top 6 teams, and we've only dropped 2 points in them, under Adkins, the football we played, the spirit and effort (or lack of) we would have been lucky to gain 2 points0
-
With many more performances like today, l just hope we don't lose the team and the manager in the next transfer window...2

I've just got home after a 12 hour round trip to The Valley and back, not read any posts yet, but all I can say is WOW!!
Atmosphere fantastic, away end sold out, team powerful, passionate and played some great football!
12 hours well spent absolutely fucking loved every second!
More on the game from me tomorrow, off for a couple of glasses if Red now!!
GET IN!!27 -
Loving the sour grapes on the Plymouth forum claiming it was our cup final. Brilliant performance, made a team playing very well look average at best. So many players performing at levels you wouldn't think possible after seeing them under Adkins.
Hope the Plymouth lads aren't too disappointed at missing out on the open-top bus parade they had arranged in expectance of their win.10
