Ronnie's always wrong, so that settles it.RonnieMoore said:Excellent song keep playing it7 -
It's fine as a song to play as fans begin to filter out of the ground but it's blasted so quickly immediately after the final whistle, it feels shoehorned in. One of the best parts of winning games at the Valley is being able to soak up the atmosphere after the final whistle and I can imagine how frustrating it must be to be denied of that if you are there.12

No issue with it being played but same as when it usurped RRR before a game previously the way it kicks in and dominates proceedings the second the whistle has gone completely nulls the authentic euphoria.
Might work at sports "events" stateside but is ill matched at the valley and what you've perfectly outlined.7 -
Calm down dear, it's only a song.RodneyCharltonTrotta said:Ffs

Just can't believe the things people will find to moan at. If we play like that every game he can play it as long and as loud as he likes as far as I'm concerned.4

Let Thomas have his bloody song.2

Hate it. Kills the buzz3

Agreed entirely. I was horrified when somebody on another thread jokingly suggested to Sandgaard on LinkedIn to start goal music. It could easily happen! And that would be horrific.

Imagine if addicks to victory came on 5 seconds after the shootout against Doncaster ended! That whole whirlwind amazing euphoric a Capella moment. It’s not that big a deal, and I’m not into heavy metal etc but don’t actually mind it - just needs a bit more sensitivity / consideration of timing so the main event (ie supporter noise) is appreciated at its best. You wouldn’t have background music playing on the speakers at an Adele concert!5 -
That said, loved tonight regardless so it’s a minor!0

Let us fans have our authentic atmosphere. We're not his plaything.Chunes said:Let Thomas have his bloody song.17 -

What the boss says, it killed the atmosphere tonight, again, its too loud and feels forced, post tunnel jump would be fine.AFKABartram said:I think it probably depends where you sit. In the East it is deafening. I absolutely hate it and it’s a massive deflator at the end of the game. The players are clapping the fans and walking off, it should be a buzzing atmosphere but instead there is no singing as they are force feeding noise through the tannoy.I love the Red Red Robin a thousand times more than that 80s crap, but I don’t want to hear that then either. Play it once the tunnel jumps done as the fans are leaving and leave the end game celebrations to the fans, players and Jacko to show a bit of appreciation to each other. Let us sing to Jacko, Stockley, Gilbey etc12 -
Is it Thomas' instruction that that is when it should be played, or is it somebody else trying to keep him happy?
At the end of the day you should listen to your "customers"!!5 -
I'm mean who cares, I didn't even notice it in the west upper. You fellow 40 somethings being grumpy gits, you've got years to do that properly2
-
Horrible, feels very Palace and ridiculously loud even on the feed.

Fair point. I'm a miserable sod so probably my problem.Rothko said:I'm mean who cares, I didn't even notice it in the west upper. You fellow 40 somethings being grumpy gits, you've got years to do that properly
Brilliant win and an excellent evening under the lights. Got to give it to jacko now.0 -
We need a battle cry, tonight it's do or die.8
-
Heard it on the BBC Radio London coverage. Killed the atmosphere in my living room too and the radio presenters were struggling to speak over it. Glad it's been pointed out here at least.3

I’m a bit tongue in cheek as ever, but a song shouldn’t be a buzz kill to that performanceRodneyCharltonTrotta said:

We're never going to sing it. Not sure if he's after some sort of 'rocking all over the world' vibe, but it ain't going to happen.1
-
Agree with Rodders.
It just flattens the whole experience at the end when we win. Can't stand it.0 -

You still think you're down with the kids or something? Because, sorry to say, you're not.5 -

Pretty clear what’s drowning what here!5 -
Hate it, post match is so much better when the crowd get to make the noise
7 -
I'm 31, was with my pal who's 28, and we both think it's shit. No atmosphere to drown out where you sit so no wonder you don't notice it.Rothko said:I'm mean who cares, I didn't even notice it in the west upper. You fellow 40 somethings being grumpy gits, you've got years to do that properly1 -
Far from it, just as a fellow 40 something like Rodders, we’ve years of being properly grumpy, this seems a minor thing to get annoyed by.Off_it said:

That video sums it up well. 3 and a half minutes from the final whistle and not a single chant as that ‘song’ drowns it out.paulsturgess said:mendonca said:You can clearly hear the crowd over the song. if it is that loud in the middle of the pitch, it’s even more loud in the stands. Can’t the CD have an unfortunate accident with a hammer @Ollywozere ?10 -
To be fair mate, I do think you "peaked" with your "Forum Factory" opus. Been downhill ever since.RodneyCharltonTrotta said:

Welcome to the club!3 -
Hate it, I want to hear the fans signing showing appreciation to the players who put in such a great performance, it spoils that moment3

I think that video is shot on iPhone on a mount, and they have a tendency with sound to lock on to something and not pick other things up well.AFKABartram said:

We should bring back an Upton Park classic..."you win again" by the Bee Gees. Now they were the days!
