Does Ben’s family live in Plumstead? I walked past this on a local house today. I assume it is for Ben? Anyway I thought it was lovely.
If anyone think it’s inappropriate to post this I’ll remove it.
Hi everyone, Sorry I have not been on here for a while, still struggling to come to terms with losing our Ben to such a cruel disease.
Yes this is our house where Ben lived all his life. One of the parents of the school I work at asked if she could tie a red & white bow for Ben, & it just took off. It has brightened up our road & showed us what a great community we have in Plumstead.
Glad Charlton are now safe & we look forward to them rising up the league very soon COYR.
Garry, there's no need to apologise for not being around. Loads of us have had to take a break from the site for one reason or another - I'm a mod and have barely been on here for the last few weeks - and you have a particularly good reason at the moment. We're here if you need to post for support, or just want to distract yourself with the various random wibbling on Charlton and non-Charlton topics, but there are no expectations.
That said, thanks for explaining the story behind the ribbons. It's good to know that you and Sharon are getting such support from your local community.

Love to all Garry & Sharon xx
Thanks for posting. I had just grabbed a toastie from the Slade and was heading towards home and as soon as I turned in to your road I spotted it. Very eye catching and quite moving. Best of luck to you all.
I managed to take Ben's flag on his last away day on Tuesday 😊. Tried to get more of his friends in but they were still at the bar haha. Good result for him too. The journey home was lovely as i got to travel with Niall & Connor & the drum which now has Ben's name on it so he is with them everywhere they go. Got very emotional at that point, but huge, huge credit to Charlton fans all over for giving comfort to myself & Sharon XXXXX ⚽️
That's brilliant, Garry ! SO pleased that you managed to "smuggle" in that very special flag and have a beautiful photo to add to your collection.
However, this was taken right in front of where we were sitting - in fact I can see my silver locks when I must have been talking to Pippa ( face upturned ..." Yes, Nan , of course I won't swear tonight !" ) Wish we could have given you a hug.
We did notice Ben's name on the drum as we exited the ground which was a lovely surprise.
And be assured, Ben will be with all of us, everywhere we go. x

Rod will standing alongside Ben and both smiling down on you all.
Myself & Sharon was invited to the Sponsors dinner last night, thanks to all of you, in place of our Ben. We had a really lovely evening meeting a few players & other sponsors.
It was another emotional day today where we got have a small service for Ben at the Valley. We managed to sprinkle some of his ashes in the memorial garden overlooking the pitch. Thank you Matt Baker for organising this, & thank you Jean Huelin & Tracey Leaburn for attending with us xxx

I told Garry that there could be an avalanche of replacement scarves as Bens memorial & memory will go on as he touched so many of our lives.
I’m not able to put a scarf or ribbon there.
But I’m sure many on here could.
C’mon Lifers, you know what to do ♥️
I make no apologies ♥️
You always will Garry ♥️
