Finally, you’ve moved on to acceptance.13 -
Yeah, but we haven’t got the budget, TS is skint and doesn’t know what he’s doing, and has already made far too many mistakes!!!, we’re DOOMED!!!!!!!!!!🙄😂Scoham said:Sign a youngster - too inexperienced
Sign someone 30 plus - too old
Sign a player in their mid 20s we’ve never heard of - who? shows how far we’ve fallen
Sign an ex player - poor unimaginative scouting
Sign a player we’ve heard of in their mid 20s -past his best, why else would he come here?
Shorter than 6 foot - fails the height test, too lightweight
Sign someone over 6 foot 1 - big lump with limited ability
Sign a non-league player - if this is where we’re shopping we’re in trouble
Have I got this right?
What we need is a hungry promising youngster with years of experience, height, strength who’s small and quick, and is an unpredictable box of tricks and known as Mr Consistent.

Spurs have been selling their young players in recent years. They're also in the market for a right back to compete with Emerson Royal and Matt Doherty. Adama Traore and Djed Spence have been linked.
Amos to QPR, Cirkin to Sunderland, Eyoma to Lincoln, Markanday to Blackburn are some examples of Spurs selling their youth in the last year and a half.
No pedigree imo. No experience either.
Would be just as good playing one of our own youngsters, which I thought was Sandgaard's stated aim when he bought us.
But then again, his words have a habit of not matching his actions.
A player of "pedigree" would have made his mark by now. Like Gallagher.
I would love to quote some of our youngsters that I've seen play when they were 18 & who stood out but I'll be told that was "different times" and players don't start their careers now until they have the key to the door & need to sit in the reserves until then. 🙄

Does he have any say in it? If so that's a step in the right direction.Redrobo said:

And into the bargain we are giving game time to a player from a Premiership team who will undoubtedly be off to another team next year, ala Gallagher, Bielik, Cullen, Millar, Da Silva.......
Absolutely pointless. This is JJs 1st transfer window. Let’s please afford him a modicum of respect.
It's clearly Roddy that has clocked up the last two then.......0 -
So you do think our management team are stupid. Grossly disrespectful.golfaddick said:
I've looked at his stats. He is 21 & has made 1 (ONE) appearance. That was with Spurs in a home Europa tie where they won 4-0. They actually signed him the year before from.....Chelsea.Redrobo said:

Whoopee Do.
Please dont expect me to be excited or even whelmed at the prospect of seeing a 21 year old with no experience try to help us survive in this division.
Nothing worse than a miserable pessimist to drag everyone down. Your negativity is just boring and tedious. Why don’t you take a break from CL and give us all a break.7 -

It's simple they need to be younger than Jordan Cousins but older and more proven than Joe Piggott.Scoham said:Sign a youngster - too inexperienced

Gallagher hadn’t played, Maatsen, Millar, Da Silva - all did ok for us
maybe just maybe this player is not a load of dog toffee and he might be here for next season too so this is a chance to settle in. We just don’t know but can assume he’s been watched and scouted
we don’t even know who it is and you’ve written them off already

I have no idea. I’d like to think they are watched at least a couple of times in the flesh rather than someone just looking at stats. But I honestly don’t knowCafc43v3r said:

As Paulie has pointed out we signed Cullen two years running, on loan both times.golfaddick said:
We only signed Da Silva 2 years running, but we didnt signed any of the rest permanently did we. So the following season we had to replace them. Gallagher left half way through his loan spell, which if he'd stayed I doubt we would have got relegated. If he was a permanent then we would not be in this position.Exiled_Addick said:golfaddick said:

You've literally included two players in your list that we signed on loan two seasons running.
But whatever I say I wrong. I was wrong in the summer & I'm wrong now.So wrong again, I’m afraid.3 -
Yes. Not sure why Steve Gallen is held as some sort of Talent spotting Messiah by some on here. For me he carries the can as much as anyone. Put bluntly if he was as good as some made out he'd of been snapped up by a bigger team by now.Cafc43v3r said:
The striker is a no brainer but the attacking midfielders.....Scoham said:https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/johnnie-jackson-its-so-clear-what-areas-charlton-need-to-do-business-in-this-transfer-window/Confirmation again we’re looking for attacking midfielders and strikers. JJ said:
What we need is someone with that final pass or cross, and someone to put it in the net.
Since last season we have signed Kirk, Leko, CBT and Lee I think that proves how good our recruitment was

I have to agree with some of the other posters, signing someone like Laviner at this point seems really pointless. I would understand maybe having an untested youth player for a whole season, but unless our board really dont think we are safe or more likely think are deluded enough to think we can still get in the play offs then , I'd rather just try one of our own kids or still with someone who is already here.0
-
And if you want some more examples Golfie, there are two players in our current squad who were on loan last season and are still here.I do sympathize with you though because it’s only when people start throwing around things like facts and evidence that you end up being wrong.8

We probably know all about everyone over about 15 at Arsenal, Chelsea spurs etc to some degree.Swisdom said:

i know what I’d like to happen
But especially with 1st loans I am sure you put the word round that you want a left back, or a midfielder OR they send out a list. I don't think, as a league 1 club, you are in much of a position to be picking and choosing and certainly don't hold the cards. Of course there are exceptions that the player is "known" to the manager/staff or his agent is looking for a move to an area.0 -

Castillo or something like that LB from Chelsea.0

Lavinier can play at either full back or center back. Could be a long term solution to the position Clare has been playing and cover other positions as well. Highly likely to be allowed to leave spurs in the summer.

I'm sure if we matched Chucks wage demands he would still of gone to Birmingham, bigger club, higher level and Bowyer was the manager. It hasn't worked out for him (because in my opinion he ain't that great) and TS spent £300k to bring him back. Everyone complaining TS spends no money. When money is spent a couple of wise guys on a Charlton forum could've done it better.blackpool72 said:

There isn't really any indication that anyone that can afford the expenditure for a serious push and who understands football is interested.
unless TS gets some investment, because he’s rich, but not rich enough, we can’t compete with the likes of Wigan, Sunderland, Ipswich
Although I just get loled when I question our saviour2 -
