This guy knows his stuff when it comes to the Spurs youth team, and is also suggesting its Lavinier.
Christ this how low we have sunk - the person had to point out who we are and what league we are in!
His audience is Premiershit fans base. They hardly know where Edmonton is let alone anything outside the Premiershit League.
It's in Alberta in Canada isn't it?
  • Long gone are the days when we paid £4m for the last RB we got from Spurs….and gave him the platform to get in the England squad.

Oh dear, it is 2miles from Tottenham in the Borough of Enfield by the North circular!

RB on the way from Spurs
Are you sure it's not a LB?
Right back, young loanee. Was at the club today
Really can't see the point. Why bring in a player who wont be here past May so we just have to go through the whole rigmarole once again in the summer.

And into the bargain we are giving game time to a player from a Premiership team who will undoubtedly be off to another team next year, ala Gallagher, Bielik, Cullen, Millar, Da Silva.......

    Absolutely pointless.

You've literally included two players in your list that we signed on loan two seasons running.
We only signed Da Silva 2 years running, but we didnt signed any of the rest  permanently did we. So the following season we had to replace them. Gallagher left half way through his loan spell, which if he'd stayed I doubt we would have got relegated. If he was a permanent then we would not be in this position.

But whatever I say I wrong. I was wrong in the summer & I'm wrong now.

As Paulie has pointed out we signed Cullen two years running, on loan both times.

    So wrong again, I’m afraid.
    Ok,  my bad.

I'll withdraw graciously from this thread & let the rest of you argue the toss.

Unless we are signing a kid from Spudz on a perm or the loan includes next season too then I’d rather we didn’t bother, I mean we are going nowhere this season so what is the point.

Exactly, we’re doing his parent club a favour that’s all, we might as well play one of our own youngsters and give them the experience.  Unless of course as some have suggested it is with a view to a permanent.

Or we’re building bridges to tap into players next season ?

JJ might have had enough of DJ and Leko at RWB.

Surprised if a right sided player - doesn’t fit with what I heard
Did you say the other day it was an attacking midfielder?
no, 2 weeks ago i know for a fact that a player that i consider to be a cdm (although he has recently played CAM) was asked about for a loan deal to us - then this weekend i was told we were after 2 players this week and what positions they are and tuesday i was told we had one of those and they were signing yesterday - neither of those 2 positions were a right sided player
  • I imagine anyone coming from Spurs Academy would come on CP's recommendation.

Appears like a domino effect with what player it could be. One spurs fan says it A and the rest follow. We will see tomorrow.

Who hasn’t they are the clear weak links in the team.

Out of interest if we were to play our own youth instead of Spuds… who is the best RWB talent in the U23’s or U18’s

Charlton Life discuss Lavinier. A Charlton fan sends a text to his Spurs mate to ask what he is like.  That Spurs guy tells his mate he has heard Charlton are after the RB.  Mate posts up a tweet. Other websites jump on it. Hey presto a rumour gains legs.  Then we get Mata on loan from Man UTD.

According to an article in the Mail he is a Fast wing back who is good on the ball and direct. He can also play left back and centre half. Picked by Jose Mourinho for the Spurs Europa Cup squad. Played for England and Portugal at youth level and has been on loan to Lyon.

Why is everyone saying we don't need a right back? Gunter is shit, Matthews isn't getting a look in and DJ started off well at rwb but hasn't looked up to it recently. I'd guess that we will shift gunter or Matthews and he will come in as a proper rwb. Never heard of him, but sounds like he has some pedigree

Matthews that started our last game? Agree with the rest of what you say.

If the weak links are clear to you in a team as inconsistent as this you must have a special gift because I've seen DJ play a blinder and Leko scare the shit out of oppo defenders. I've seen them both be all but invisible. The same goes for the rest of them.

I take it we'll be saying bye bye to Lee and leko to make room for the new batch of loanee kids coming in.

    Maximum of 5 isn't it?

5 in the squad at any one time. I wonder if there's a deal in the offing for Lee like there was last January for Shinnie

I am really starting to think that this is it for our club at least for the next 10 or so years.  There isn't really any indication that anyone that can afford the expenditure for a serious push and who understands football is interested.
Don’t you trust Thomas and his astute financial wizardry…i.e spending £300k for somebody that left for free 6 months earlier.

unless TS gets some investment, because he’s rich, but not rich enough, we can’t compete with the likes of Wigan, Sunderland, Ipswich
    Exactly this.
Although I just get loled when I question our saviour
I'm sure if we matched Chucks wage demands he would still of gone to Birmingham, bigger club, higher level and Bowyer was the manager. It hasn't worked out for him (because in my opinion he ain't that great) and TS spent £300k to bring him back. Everyone complaining TS spends no money. When money is spent a couple of wise guys on a Charlton forum could've done it better.
I think the 300k was probably what Birmingham paid in signing on fee etc. and possibly what we might've offered in the summer. People were banging on saying we hadn't replaced him and then complain we did get a replacement (which happened to be the exact player people wanted).

Astute financial wizardry comment - We were always going to have to pay a signing bonus and a bump in wages when we offered a contract to him,  and it's not like his form in the Championship would have added a premium to his contract. We've possibly just taken over his contract, and Birmingham probably didn't have to offer more than our terms in the summer - "this is the £, up to you; play in league 1 or play in the Champ".
