Do we have loan room for Castillo and the lad from Spurs?
Should do, Castillo only recently turned 22, and as he was born in January 2000 he should count as u21 like Morgan does (he’s 22 next month).

If the Spurs loanee is the same age or younger they won’t have to be registered either.

Are we sure we’re signing both?

Hopefully we can move a few more on and strengthen central midfield too.

I am really starting to think that this is it for our club at least for the next 10 or so years.  There isn't really any indication that anyone that can afford the expenditure for a serious push and who understands football is interested.
Don’t you trust Thomas and his astute financial wizardry…i.e spending £300k for somebody that left for free 6 months earlier.

unless TS gets some investment, because he’s rich, but not rich enough, we can’t compete with the likes of Wigan, Sunderland, Ipswich
    Exactly this.
Although I just get loled when I question our saviour
I'm sure if we matched Chucks wage demands he would still of gone to Birmingham, bigger club, higher level and Bowyer was the manager. It hasn't worked out for him (because in my opinion he ain't that great) and TS spent £300k to bring him back. Everyone complaining TS spends no money. When money is spent a couple of wise guys on a Charlton forum could've done it better.
Regarding your last sentence could've done it better.
We are in the bottom half of league one about 6 points above the relegation zone.
This is the third transfer window Sandgaard has been in charge of.
So I would say things could and should have been done better.
I thought you were going to have a rest from posting and give us all a welcome break.
    And I will.
I'll leave you to your Sandgaard love in echo chamber where no one is allowed to criticise our great leader.
    Bye.
What I won’t do is slag off a manager who has been in post for a month and is trying to build a squad of players he wants.
    Bye.

If this kid from Spurs can play right back, perhaps it gives Jackson the chance to adapt and play 4 at the back.  If he doesn’t rate Gunter or Matthews, it may be this kid coming in can play RB, Purrington LB and he then has a chance to play 4 in midfield or some sort of diamond maybe

Who knows.  Perhaps he thinks we could do with flexibility and our 3-5-2 has been worked out

If we sign him on loan he counts in the squad, if we sign him perm he doesn't.  I thought you were right but was corrected, that rule only applies in the championship apparently.

Think you’ve got it the wrong way round. In League 1 age is the deciding factor, in the Championship loan players count irrespective of age.
  • Think it will be Gunter gone before Matthews. Matthews can be used a RWB aswell as a standard RB.

Gunter has struggled at RB at the best of times.

Yes I have got it the wrong way round. Sorry. Not sure what the difference is but I am sure it makes sense to someone.....

From my fanatical Spurs supporting mate seems he can certainly play wing back.
    Is that Danny H?
     No his name is Marc.
Reckon he probably knows Danny, he's shared photos of himself with a group of Spurs and that flag a couple if times. He's fanatical Spurs n all

2 new young fit attacking wing backs, what's not to like

just need to ship a few out now and trim the squad
I refuse to form any opinion positive or negative now on young loaners who’ve had very limited game time until we’ve seen them play.

In recent years, whilst Gallagher, Dasilva and Bielik were big successes, there was also Smith, Malvidi (Arsenal), Levitt (Man C), Smith (Man C), Kaikai (Palace), Dodoo (Rangers).
Mavididi was ok, but picked a nasty injury during a home match, which set him back quite a bit.
The Smiths all blend into one - genuinely can’t remember which one was which, (which might be old age kicking in). Wasn’t there a third one from Arsenal?
Would like to see cover for Dobson and Lee, or is that Morgan’s role these days? Lee has been disappointing over the last 5 or 6 games, although less disappointing when not taking free kicks and corners.

We had Matt Smith from Arsenal and Matt Smith from Man City. Neither were particularly memorable loanees.
  • So these 2 in would make it 6 loanees. Who misses out? Unless Lee is signed permanent?
  • Thank god for our former managers. Looks like Bowyer has very much helped us out with Castillo & Chuks & Chrissy Powell the same with the Spurs RB Lavinier.

Got a feeling that's a given seeing as all parties seem to want it
  • Theres only one Juan Castillo....

Arter went back to Forest,so that means we have 5 now.

Arter went back so, I make it 3. Famewo, Lee and Leko.
  • @blackpool72 is innocent.

    Dissent is not a crime.

Real lfe is not an echo chamber.

    Etc etc.

Or could Leko be sent back?

Birmingham need reinforcements and we’d be overloaded on the right if this Spuds kid comes in.

I see Bowyer has only played him 3 times.. .....once on the right  !!

    You gotta love that man.
  • Only thing I know about Castillo is that he is absolutely rapid.
More to the point, how tall is he ?
  • It was only a hamstring injury for Mavididi though wasn't it? - When he came back for his second spell he wasn't as good that time round, dont remember him picking up a second injury during that spell

Yeah but it was a grade 3 which is pretty severe. He lost a bit of that electric pace, a quick google suggests he is over that now.
  • RB on the way from Spurs
Are you sure it's not a LB?
Right back, young loanee. Was at the club today
Really can't see the point. Why bring in a player who wont be here past May so we just have to go through the whole rigmarole once again in the summer.

And into the bargain we are giving game time to a player from a Premiership team who will undoubtedly be off to another team next year, ala Gallagher, Bielik, Cullen, Millar, Da Silva.......

    Absolutely pointless.

You've literally included two players in your list that we signed on loan two seasons running.
We only signed Da Silva 2 years running, but we didnt signed any of the rest  permanently did we. So the following season we had to replace them. Gallagher left half way through his loan spell, which if he'd stayed I doubt we would have got relegated. If he was a permanent then we would not be in this position.

But whatever I say I wrong. I was wrong in the summer & I'm wrong now.

What is the meaning of even a broken clock is right twice a day?
Proverb. a stopped clock is right twice a day. A normally unreliable person or instrument can occasionally provide correct information, even if only by accident.
  • What happened to Ruben Carvalho? I thought he looked half decent pre season, but just now realised haven't seen his name since.

It's stupid to be honest. Same with the keepers, don't understand why they count in the Championship squads but not League 1.

That's not a bad shout actually. If Jacko doesn't see Leko as a striker then I agree it could be worth him being recalled. Brums squad is very thin.
