What's the point in loan players at this stage....
The loan rules change next year, so clubs in the premier league are not going to be able to loan out as many players.. So may these will be like extended trials with a view to signing
In addition that now leaves us with the full quota of possible loan signings for a match day squad
So doubt there will be a sixth loan coming in - Guess now its a case of trying to get Marcus Browne in and that'll be it, unless of course that falls through and we revert to option B / C or whatever we're currently up to

Well Nile John is not 19 for another 6 weeks. It's possible that he'll need some time adapting to mens football, like Dasilva did. We get to look at him for the rest of the season with a view to signing him again in the summer for a promotion push next season. If he doesn't do well enough, we look at an alternative in the summer. That's ignoring the outside chance we snap him up permanently in the summer. I think a loan move works but it has to be with a view to the player being here again next season.
I thought that Kirk going was not dependent in a signing coming in but it now seems so. Meanwhile a bloke deemed useless here is seen as good enough for the Championship. Strange , or not ?
Or one out and one in at the same time is just coincidence?

There is absolutely no chance that we will sign one of Spurs' top academy prospects on a permanent deal in the summer.

Or good news management.
But more likely just a coincidence.
The article highlights we can still use John in the Pizza cup, so I imagine this was already done before and we’ve held it back.

I heard there was a hold up as he was at the Valley last week.

Probably not, that's why I said outside chance. Decent chance of getting him on loan again though I'd say.
We're going nowhere because we haven't replaced Aneke. We replace Aneke with Aneke. Ah ffs he can't play 90 minutes, why we resigning someone who left for free 6 months ago.
Lee hasn't been doing it, we need some competition. We sign Nile John on loan. Ah ffs why we signing someone on loan.

Purrington isn't a wing back, why we giving a chelsea wing back game time
3 signings in the January window already & still 4 days to go.
This doesn't feel very Charlton!!
The underwhelming feeling is just the same.
We're a mid table league 1 club so expectations should be managed accordingly.
My point stands. I'm pleased to see our business done relatively early, signing players we actually want rather than scratching around for whatever's available on deadline day
a wishful thought .. Ellis Simms [Everton - Hearts] Loan .. his goals played a major part in Blackpool's promotion last season when he was on loan there .. he is just what we need .. even so, Scottish football is undergoing a bit of a resurgence lately
I hate to be one of the moaners I really do. But a loan signing, unless there’s a guarantee we get first option on him next season, seems fairly pointless to me when we’re destined for mid table. I’d rather give one of our own a pop.

There is only one thing that matters.
Do they pass the Charlton Life Height Test?

"Today is deadline day or, as Charlton fans call it, Monday"
