It appears that we didn't appeal for "obstruction". Bet we would have done so had this been the WC Final!!!
Remember Aussies successfully appealed run out obstructions against Jason Roy and Ben Stokes a few years back ...
And Wade's was absolutely blatant - his left foot comes across to change direction and block Wood off and having looked to see exactly where Wood is, the left arm comes out.
No idea what our strongest side is in this format but the makeup for the side just doesn't feel right. Not sure how to fix it tho.
Sadly seems like there isn't a place for Livingstone unless Mo or Rash get injured. I think we need Jordan for his death bowling sonic becomes one of Woakes/Curran (Could throw stokes into that category too and slightly change the balance).
Would love Root (or Pope) at 3 for Malan but it'll never happen.
Worried that Hales has become a liability in the field. He is a world class opener in Aus in particular.

Further "food for thought" but purely with the WC in mind:
Stokes hasn't played international T20s for over 18 months and his record isn't great anyway but it seems we are "pot committed" to playing him Malan was dropped to 7 today - what team in the world does that to their so called number 3 because he chews up too many balls before he gets going Livingstone might not be fit for the first WC game Yes we beat Australia today but it was their second string bowling attack - Starc, Cummins, Hazlewood and Zampa will be a totally different challenge to Richardson, Sams, Ellis and Swepson though I have been impressed with Ellis whenever I've seen him bowl Not all the wickets will be roads so we will need to be adaptable
If every member of the 15 we've sent to the WC were fit then I would find a place for Livingstone - he has that "X" factor with the bat and gives us a third and unique spinning option in that it doesn't matter if there is a left/right combo batting. No surprises who I would leave out for the reasons I've said above so who bats at 3? Moeen would be my pick. He's scored 506 runs in the last year at 33.73 and has the ability to tee off from the start if necessary or work it around if the deck is a 150-160. Dhoni backed him in the IPL to that job too. As you say, Jordan is the best of our death bowlers but Curran has that ability to break partnerships (and gives us a second left arm seamer option) so would have him ahead of Woakes:
To be fair to Malan, the 1st wicket went down after a massive opening partnership, so we just needed people to come in and smash the ball alongside Hales. If it had been 9-1, then someone who could build an innings might have been more useful. Especially if it wasn't a road, like the Perth wicket.

It was a perfect illustration of why Malan should be picked. Insurance in case we lose a wicket, but can be pushed down the order to let bigger hitters go in when we get a fast start.

A good workout for both teams too. At this stage, you want a decent contest to get you battle hardened.
