Away we go, up to muddy old Hillsborough ...... back on course for 5 defeats in a row. Or can Jacko pull the rabbit from his magic hat?
He's got to come up with some sort of miracle or at least get doled out an overdue portion of good fortune.
There's not been much around lately.
“It’s the toughest period I’ve had – not just the results but the people we’ve had out makes it even more challenging, To have that many key players out is going to make things difficult". Jacko's right and it is tough, but football is a results business - and we need one right now.
Some good news. Marquee signing Scott Fraser and the hugely missed Jayden Stockley have trained this week and there is a chance they're just fit enough to be in contention, maybe from the bench?
Young Mase might have only had a bad attack of cramp after all - but we won't see CBT, Chuks or Washington. Or the suspennded Clare. No Inniss either; thigh injury.
Charlton: MacGillivray; Gunter, Lavelle, Famewo; Matthews, Gilbey (c), Dobson, Morgan, Purrington; Lee, Burstow
Charlton TV pre-show starts at 2.15.
Scotty , Curbs with special guest Osei Sankofa - I saw him make his debut as a teenager at Old Trafford. That was probably his best Charlton performance ever.
Sorry, Osei!

I've seen tweets suggesting that Jayden has travelledOggy Red said:Thanks, Forever. I'll amend my intro post.
As has Scott Fraser

Absolutely no surprise there. Great player, but he is made of glass and is never going to stay fit. Sorry to say it, but his injury record means he is no good to us going forward. I think we have to release him at the end of the season.ForeverAddickted said:10 -
Exactly why he shouldn't get a new contract, despite being a legend...2

No debate to be had for me. With a squad cap we can't afford to have a player we know isn't capable of starting 30+ games, especially at CB.Clem_Snide said:

Good to see Jayden and Fraser have travelled, have a reasonable positive feeling about today, and see us getting three points, or at least one, luck HAS to change sometime, why not today, COME ON YOU REDS...

Certainly not as a first choice Centre-Back... Dont just need a solid defence, but basically need to go back to having four / five players that start every week, and know everything about each other.Scoham said:

In Ryan's case I dont even think Id want him as backup. You need cover that you can rely on to step in, whereas in his case, there is as much chance of him being injured at the same time0 -

Gee......that side is filled with goals.
More talent on the bench than there is in the starting 11.0 -

Nile John's turn on the bench today, getting ready for the last 5 minutes appearance.
It'll be another debut for Henry's thread.

Gunter and Matthews again. Zzzzz0

We don't see Henderson on the bench thses days.
Is he injured, because of Covid or have they paid him off, to blood Harness instead?

Can't see us getting anything today.charltonman2016 said:Same formation that doesn't work at all.0 -
What message does it send, when Matthews (who clearly doesn't care) keeps his place despite getting beaten (and being bone idle) time and time again?4
