Currently nobody is doing worse than us results wise, we match Fleetwood for last 6 form
I'm not a football snob at all and I have seen Charlton at all levels but the fact we are equally as bad as Fleetwood is a horrific fall from grace.

The plan for next year better be a stonker otherwise we could be in for long while of league 1 mediocrity.

    And they make Fisherman's Friends.

And play the Captain Pugwash pirate tune after every goal.

We have a long way to go.
By all accounts they all enjoy sucking a Fisherman's friend

Personally I make do with a handshake.
  • Dobson, Fraser, Stockley and Washington, plus Aneke & JFC should stay.

The rest of the weak willed, lily livered, lightweight, non trying, bunch of non league level shite should all go.

My only doubt is whether Jackson & Skivvi should go with them.

I knew even playing 10 men for 25 mins we wouldn't compete and we didn't.

    Absolute fucking disgrace.
Covered End is 100% correct with everything
        He said.
It is an absolute Fucking disgrace and a total
Embarrassment……,,division two here we go 👎👎👎👎
  • Formation is probably because he has always said you need 2 up top on this league, but he doesn’t trust only 4 at the back to defend. I don’t blame him….

Playing two up top for the sake of it when one of them is Leko is absolute madness.
  • As bad as it is, we’re obviously not going down, so I’m not sure why people keep talking as though we are. If you genuinely think we will then put your money where your mouth is, as we’re currently 80/1.

I agree. I don’t think we should chop and change manager though (again x2)

I would like to see JJ try something different as we are losing games anyway
  • Regardless of whether we go down or not we are in an absolute mess. We have people at the club who are what’s best for us but clearly the decision making at every level has been awful
  • There was a great moment down the left in the second half and we won a throw.  Gunter took it and it was a foul throw.  I think that, or DJ putting out his hand to grab the ball because it had gone out of play, only to find it hadn’t gone out of play and hand ball was given against him, had to be my moments of the match.

Really summed up the crap we’re being served up at the moment

I feel for JJ.  The behind the scenes structure is clearly shite, recruitment is shite - all is not well in the garden.  Then we have a bunch of rather ordinary players and a lack of team spirit.  No manager is going to make a silk purse out of pig’s bollocks.

and in terms of everyone going - not gonna happen.  Lavelle, Pearce (?) Innis (?), Dobson, JFC, Lee (?), Stockley and Washington.  Plus we have signed Chuks and Fraser and Clare.  DJ will be about and probably Ben and AG.

then someone has to figure out how to make the most of the players with tactics, options and formation and buy based on that, rather than just talking to palace and birmingham and taking their scrapings.

Time for some back room changes, club management and structure changes and playing staff changes.  Coaching needs a look too.

then judge Jackson when he’s had half a go with a half decent team with a half decent recruitment policy that actually fits a strategy
Yes, but why is JJ losing every game playing a formation that was rumbled months ago?
I honestly don’t know.  You raise a good question, but I equally feel we don’t play 352 very well either so it may not be the formation.

Let’s assume the same bunch of players tried 442 and 433 under Adkins, maybe even 451, could it be possible that the players we have in the positions they play, means you can’t get anything other than a 16th placed 3rd division side.  I understand that sides have “sussed” it, but honestly are we saying that if we change formation we will defend better, head, clear, pick up the 2nd ball, drive payers wide instead of inside, score more goals, get joined up midfield?

As i have said, I think the issue is expectations of this team v the reality - which maybe, just maybe, that 12-16th is the best they are gonna get however they line up
I don't disagree and yet at Morecambe A, prior to KO, I was talking to a fan that thought we would get automatic promotion. I disagreed, but did think we might just sneak in the play offs on the last game of the season.

It's something to do with the effort put in.
At Sunderland A, we were impenetrable and the players gave 100%.
    Today, they gave about 80%.
    The question is why?

  • Could we become the biggest club ever to be relegated to the 4th tier without the assistance of a points deduction?
    Wolves 1986.
And Burnley who won the Fourth Division in 1991–92.
By winning the fourth tier, Burnley became only the second club to win all four professional divisions of English football, after Wolverhampton Wanderers.

If we lose at home to Gillingham on Tuesday, we won't be 80/1.

Another one was when Leko managed to do some sort of cruyff turn type skill that went out for a throw in. It confused everyone, including the lino, who bizarrely gave the throw our way.

I didn't see the post match Jacko interview, I was too annoyed with a crap display.

We're winless and have been shit for 7 games. Jacko is probably guilty of many things, but I can't see how calling out the players for a gutless, brain dead and inept display can be one them. Say what you want about the formation and tactics, I didn't agree with Fraser and Lee in the midfield or Clare at rwb, but look at our defending for their winning goal.. It's mental from the players, we're supposed to have 3 cb's and they've all either gone missing or been bullied, even that's forgetting wing-backs who should at least be on the scene and covering. You can bash tactics and training but surely it's commen sense for a professional footballer?

I still don't know if Jackson is the answer or not, I just can't work out how it's all gone so tits up since his appointment. There'd have been outrage if he hadn't got the job when he did, even at the time some of us saw it as an insult it took so long.

Maybe this makes me a Jacko apologist, but I don't trust half these players as far as I could throw them, they've played many different formations for different managers and been useless. I hope we chuck most of them out and start fresh. If Jackson has to go, I hope it's not a few weeks into the summer, we need to be focusing on preparation for next year. Problem with that, is that we're so damn crap at the minute we can't even be sure we're safe this year.

What a depressing season. I'm coming over for Burton, will be my last game before leaving the coumtry for work for a year or so. I hope I can end on a high.. I don't feel too confident at the moment.
Jackson had a transfer window and signed zero centre-backs and a wing-back that hasn't really played. Signed two attacking midfielders instead (1 of which, again, hasn't played).

If this was the formation chosen, surely those were the priority. That's why he should get (some) blame for this mess.
    This.

Also, he wanted the job. He knew the players he had at his disposal & has been here long enough to know their strengths & weaknesses. It was not as if he joined us on 1st feb not knowing the players or not having a chance to bring in ones he wanted or would fit his style of play. Again we see weakness either from the recruitment '"team" or from the manager. If he didnt get the players he wanted in January (John hasn't started a match and Castillo hardly better) he should say so & walk. I hate people who dont stand up & say it as it is.

         Respectfully
If we keep losing games with the occasional draw we could easily go down. and let’s be totally honest this bunch of shite do not want to try let alone play for the shirt. Our rock n Roll ego trip owner will never invest the sort of money required to make this club a good championship side, let alone premiership side as he cannot afford to, and 90% of his personal ( excluding JJ) know fuck all about football.

  • .....but as Brownie hinted  in the studio earlier, there's more to this situation ( than meets the eye ? ) What the feck could that mean ? And as another Lifer stated, our ex defender looked quite emotional when Jacko's demeanour was mentioned....or am I imagining this ?

I saw this too Jean. He looked like he got choked up, and to me was visibly upset.

  • I think that a lot of the squad tried to impress JJ when he first took over in an effort to get a new contract next year. Since then a lot o them know, probably through their agents, that they will be let go. Some may have been told that another club has been lined up and to look after theirselves ( do a Taylor ).
So, basically, they don't give a shit about the club.
  • May I be the first to suggest Dave Challinor at Stockport be approached at the end of the season, whichever division we are in.
Has a great track record as manager and clearly knows how to get the best from players.
Certainly an excellent manager - we could be playing County next season.
  • I don't rate the players, manager, coaching staff and owner.

Be delighted to be in L1 next season.

125-1 with Bet365. Hate to say it but there are worse 125-1 bets out there
  • Sounds like having a stomach bug and being stuck in bed all day yesterday, with no energy... Worked out being a good thing for me then
