Amidst the confusion and 'non announcement' announcements being announced, I'm losing the plot here. Isn't Ben Garner officially still under contract as Swindon Town manager, or is that one of the things that we know we don't know?
If he is, then surely he can't be working for us (yet).

Officially or technically he isn't necessarily. If you read the press releases Swindon have made when Chorley left and the new bloke came in he wasn't named. They even said they didn't know if they were looking at a DOF and head coach or a manager as a solution.

Ah yes, I remember that now. So much water's been passed since then I'd forgotten.
If only someone could do a summary of the verbatim quotes from Thomas Sandgaard and a Bona fide Journalist on the SLP or the Swindon roundabout sports advertiser but not posters who say they have a mate who told them or folk on the internet called Sausage or Conor just in case it turns out to be attention seekers who just rehash what they hear from each other.
Both Airman Brown and buttleJR are good sources as the former has a track record of garnering info from the inner circle over the years and the latter has a connection with Thomas who tells him information which may be smoke and mirrors but young JR passes on in good faith.
There is only one person who is a course and distance winner in this skill on CL ?
I call for super woman @aliwibble to separate out the wheat from the chaff.

Thomas sounding more like Nixon than Nixon. Putting "at least" and "I think" in a sentence with just 10 words is hedging your bets somewhat.
Think Thomas is learning .. he can’t say yes tomorrow because if it did not happen well !!!!
Then don't reply. Even better, get off social media. He's a 60 year old businessman, not a 15 year old nerd.
Oh, the irony.
Yeh, maybe. But I am sure that Golfie, like all of us on CL, is self aware enough to know that our views are mostly transient inconsequential wank. Sandguard is the football club owner and rightly or wrongly he is likely to be judged and held to account for every contribution he makes.
I remember a game at Orient when Les Berry passed back to the Keeper 24 times in the game and in those days the goalie could pick the ball up and waste time. 0-0 classic from memory.
For the younger viewer, Les Berry was the poor man's Virgil van Dijk 🤔

If Les Berry could have passed a ball to a teammate instead of into touch he would have been Virtual van Dijk

Natural for a thread to go slightly off tangent but we’ve been going into different postcodes last 24hrs. Just an early warning likely to delete future completely different topic posts today.

Sausagedog111 broke the Garner story before everyone! According to the sausage, Garner was interviewed 2.5 weeks ago on the Saturday, and agreed to join us on the following Monday. Got that sorted, had a meeting with Gallen at the training ground, then buggered off on holiday while interclub negotiations rumbled on.
I’m not trying to make an impatient point here but if you’d of told me this time last month Jackson will make his first signing in a new job before we named his successor I wouldn't of believed it.
Nearly 5 weeks, and people defend it. Total circus.
I’m defending or attacking it, it’s just a little surprising to me, but if his tactic is to make sure it’s the absolute right one then so be it.
Doesn't take a semi competent league one club 5 weeks to appoint a manager, in the off season.
Why though? What’s wrong with negotiating a deal to suit us as well as them, if I could drag the purchase of something expensive out to save a few quid I probably would, it’s not critical right now, I’ll admit I was nervous but I don’t see why haggling over compensation makes us incompetent.
Because we fucked up last season due to our inactivity all summer and lack of preparation. Jackson has been sacked nearly 5 weeks ago, seemingly without any sort of succession plan as we still have no manager on June 7th.
Since Jackson has left, he's gone on holiday, interviewed for / got a new job, and made his first signing.
Fleetwood sacked their manager May 4th, they have a new manager in place and have already made their first signing.
I get all that but you know full well we have a plan as at today, they’re obviously cross t’s and dotting i’s. I get all the frustration and I’m with you, but I think some are getting too panicked, there’s so so much time to get this summer right, the players aren’t even in the building.
I’ll fully agree with you “if” we end up with a shit squad and are looking at deadbeats come midnight deadline day. But for now I’m happy to see if he’s leant from last season.
I dunno mate, 7 & a half weeks until the first game of the season doesn’t seem like a lot of time when we need 7/8 players for the first xi + x amount as squad players.
Fair point but that’s where we’ll probably disagree. Im not saying he will get it right I'm saying there is plenty of time and chances to get it right.
Plenty?
What so any side who hasn’t made a signing at this point doesn’t have much time?
I don't care for any other club, just this one. For the job we needed to do before the end of the season, I didn't think we had plenty of time. Looks like another wasted season. Unless there is around 12 rabbits about to be pulled from a hat!
You can make comparisons whilst still only caring for one club.
Its 7th June there’s loads of time to sign loads of players.
9 days till the lads back in training 😂
Yes. Which is why there’s loads of time to sign players, or did you think clubs sign absolutely everyone before their first day back?
This season was gonna do things early 🤣 Learn from mistakes. But it's all good you think there is loads of time 👍
Yes because there is lots of time, you crack on with your tantrum though I’m sure it’ll help.

I accept that Sausage Dog the 3rd keeps his ears and testicles close to the ground but I would say to him: "who are yer ?" He looks beefy but we will only know if his words are Kosher when Thomas Sandgaard can serve up the Answer.

I’ll be disappointed if tomorrow morning I don’t wake up to 200 new posts of players that resemble fruit or vegetables.

edit;, just noticed @ButtleJR liked your post...maybe we are there...
