Out of interest will this tempt any of you to watch Charlton Women now?
I'm afraid not.
We're not exactly local & will already be driving the hour or more to SE7 on a Saturday or to an away match as long as it's not one of the furthest when we'll watch the stream.
There's no point in saying we'd like to as the men's game will always be our main focus.
I wish they wouldn’t keep banging on about ending 56 years of hurt though.
It hasn’t - that’s the mens team
It is 56 years of hurt though. that's how long it has been since a national team won a competition in our national sport.
And unless Southgate's boy's pull off a blinder in Qatar, 2023 will be 57 years of hurt. Today's result was bloody brilliant, but it doesn't alter a thing on that front. It no more lessens the hurt of following the England Mens Football team than England winning the Rugby World Cup in 2003, the Women's Hockey Euros in 2015 or the Cricket World Cup in 2019. Please don't trivialise our pain.

Dave's got the answers for you mate.
I’ll add to that eat a whole Toblerone in one sitting (not a normal sized one; a medium sized one 😉).

I already do 2-3 of times a season as have daughters so take the eldest, but in my case what's good is it's made my youngest (she's been once but was a bit little at the time) decide she wants to go again.
Eldest wants to join a team.
It's brilliant how much this will do for young girls and football.
I like the fact I watched the last hour by myself in my flat and was still a Paul Gascoigne emotional wreck.
Obviously, it's better to be in a crowd or with friends, but it's hard to describe what actually happens when that final whistle blows. The mind goes elsewhere.
Brilliant win for the womens game and of the little I’ve seen they seem a real nice bunch .
l’m genuinely jealous of the excitement and joy it’s given to many when it’s all a bit guff to me .
the best bit about it is the fact the crowds haven’t got the huge %age of cnuts that turned up for England mens Euro final and the friendlier atmosphere at the parks where punters were watching .
i know it’s a bit weird but when a goal goes in the scenes and loopyness of it all show the real meaning to those watching , look at us Wembley 2019 .
anyway a miserable take of something joyous just for a change from me 🙄

Watched the game at a sports bar in Canary Wharf with a few friends. Place was absolutely packed. Great to see.
Those who want to keep bringing up Southgate, men’s team etc - hope you realise that each time you do that you are taking the discussion away from the achievement of these women.
Just arrived home from Wembley, what a cracking afternoon. Sat 6 rows from the back on the halfway line, you certainly get a different view of the game from there than I'm used to behind the goal.
2 moments really stood out for me that changed everything, both late on
- Greenwood coming on for Daly. Germany were absolutely tearing us apart through out left back position, bringing Greenwood on shored it up and it never really felt like we were under much pressure after that
- Lucy Bronze at the corner leading to the winner. She slowed everything down, strolled off the pitch to get the ball then strolled around the near post area shouting instructions at everyone. This seemed to draw the Germans' attention and they completely failed to notice her slowly walking round to the back post where she was left unmarked in an acre of space and managed to get something on the ball to knock it down to Kelly
ref was as bad as I've ever seen but consistently bad, she gave some shockers both ways
I’ve never really enjoyed womens football, but really enjoyed this team, The pride and passion of those girls not forgetting the much improved skill on show, was absolutely 1st class, anyone pissing on they’re chips with this achievement…. Well it’s a bit of a shame let’s put it that way and not sure how you couldn’t watch with pride. Have to say Alex Scott on the beeb, was great in the way she spoke so passionately.

Agreed, at the time (and not necessarily blaming Daly either) you could see that we were really vulnerable down our left and something had to be done.
There was some shocking defending for the England winner, very uncharacteristic
Quick shout out to the manager. In both the Spsin and Germany games, we looked on the point of being torn a new one, and both times she made changes to shore us up. Good to see a manager react, and a big part of the win.

Nope. Living in Sussex wouldn’t be affordable and wouldn’t have the desire to travel to watch it. IMO there is already too much football played in the men’s game. Why would I then want to add more football to the weekend schedule by following women’s football.

If it went pens....I'm 99% certain we would have lost, even though we have a great keeper.
It just doesn't go that way for England via penalties and big occasions.
The Wembley presence of our fanbase wouldn't have helped.
We are beyond lucky and I myself am forever grateful.
Now, sandgaurd, you old slag. Write a song about it and celebrate Englands victory by hitting us with a tweet

"Alexa, can you play some f*cking oasis"
That's how rude I got

So so proud of those women.
History made.
What a tournament 😎🤩♥️🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏆

if anything, he’s shoehorned the women’s joy into the years of men’s misery.
