We’re a harsh bunch on Leaburn, I think the last 3 or 4 games we are seeing a lot sharper, hungry and fitter Leaburn, he is a young lad and he is a handful, we are now seeing a bit more from Kelman because of Leaburn. He just needs a goal..
I get it, his body language sometimes seems off, but we will be worse off with out him, in my opinion.
same for TC.. as Tanto gets away with murder…
I think over the last 4 games he’s been one of, if not our best player. He just needed a run of games as a starter to get going I think, whenever he’s had that in previous years he’s been great

Service should improve once we sort out our wing back positions and then I think the goals will start to come. He’s barely had any good crosses in which is what he is going to score most of his goals from

I think hes looked good since kelmans come back, and no surprise kelmans looked more effective playing with Leaburn compared with earlier in the season on his own or with Campbell. Both are more effective with the right striking partner up top.

  • Think there is plenty more to come from the Leaburn and Kelman partnership I believe that it is developing well and would stick with it

The whole second striker playing wide worked well last year but clearly is not effective in the championship as the lone center forward is too isolated against stronger defenses in the championship.  Not unexpected that both Miles and Kelman have done better when playing two centrally.

We were 6th in the league with TC and Kelman starting every game? Not sure you can say it hasn’t been effective in the championship

Leaburn and Kelman have both looked better with a partner but that doesn’t mean the team won’t be better with TC up there in some games as we saw earlier in the season it can work very well, especially if we want to press from the front more against certain opposition

Leaburn and Kelman can press from the front. I think the success we had at the start of the season was in spite of/ coincident to the front 2 rather than because of them.

Kelman and TC barely had a shot or chance between them in the first 15 odd games of the season when playing together and

That was when we also had Ramsay Burke Jones Bell Edwards fully fit and Bree in form as well

Yes that’s the main factor, but the comment was that it’s “clearly not effective in the championship” which is blatantly not true. We were doing brilliantly in the championship while playing it so it clearly can be effective

Mmm. Tenuous. Again, I would say neither play even looked remotely like scoring a goal or really causing any meaningful threat so I would say it was pretty ineffective, and just incidental that results succeeded with it for a period, due to other parts of the team papering the cracks, IMO

When at the kids crimbo do, got talking to miles, I’d mentioned he’d had a good game, on the Saturday, he did make a point of saying how much stronger and fitter he feels and obviously was allowing him to put it about a bit more. Would love for him to do it closer to the goal though if possible, Kelman would benefit from that also feeding off the scraps.

he looks it. loving his work at the moment and they look like a good pairing and wonderfully, they always seem to be pretty close to each other whereas TC was just basically playing LWF attached to the touchline with Kelman just alone not getting a touch in the previous strike pairing system

Fair play to him today was Quality, since Oxford he’s been looking better still would like another option but at least he’s improving

Was our best performer today outside of Kelman grabbing 2 goals of course.

Really hope he hasn't picked up an injury.

Missed him when he went off, other than the run from Olaofe.

Seems to be the pattern for him in recent years that he gets injured just as it's starting to click again. Hopefully the sub today was a precaution more than anything else

Thats a relief... He's starting to look a proper Championship Striker, shame he didnt get the first goal as he deserved it, not just for today, but for the performances he's been putting in of late

Does anyone still think he's not good in the air?
  • I thought Miles was really good today, hope he’s ok.

Looked good today, long may it continue!
Shame he couldn’t do better with his 1v1, that would have won us the game and given him untold confidence

He’s very good at winning headers but the direction and accuracy of the headers could do with some improvement. Last 5 he looks much more enthusiastic to win them at least which is a positive

I think he does that bit of it really well. Some headers are incredibly tough just to win, no player can always direct them perfectly but I think he’s very clever and accurate with a lot of them

Showed today for Kelman's first goal that if we deliver proper crosses into the box that he will get on the end of them.

First bit of quality into the box and this happens. This is why I want a bit of time with Apter in the squad to get the ball in the box.

If he keeps developing, he can become that rarest of things - a mobile target man
