What exactly was he expecting? It's a Women's world cup and kick off times will be early morning in Europe. England's group games for example kick off around 10am in the morning when most people are at work.
So rather than take some money, his response is to say 'well you can't have it at all'. Idiot.1 -

Infantino talks shite, he knows there is less interest in the women's game, ticket prices will tell you that, but no he'll shift blame on to the broadcasters. FIFAs revenue is in the billions for each World Cup cycle. I doubt there are any sponsors, licensing or marketing revenues that are equal between the men and women's tournaments.PopIcon said:

The best game I went to last season 21/22 was the Euro Quarter Final England v Spain.
Still not sure how England won that match against the skilful Spanish team but some how they did. Mainly because The Spanish woman were short of their strikers and England had lots of potential scorers including their super subs: Toone, Russo and Kelly.
England used all their luck up in the Euro's and Kirby, Williamson, Mead, and Bright* will all be missing as well as Ellen White and Jill Scott who have both retired.
* Bright may still make it but the others are all out.

FIFA have committed to equal prize money from the 2026/2027 world cups. If he doesn’t want that to eat into his expense account, he needs to get the money from somewhere. Hence, asking for more from the broadcasters.PopIcon said:

Over a million tickets have been sold so far for the Women’s World Cup which starts next month in Australia and New Zealand making it the most watched Cup, more than the tournament in France in 2019. 25% of the tickets have been sold for NZ venues, nearly half of those to overseas fans. It will be the biggest sporting event ever in New Zealand.
Tickets to games featuring top sides like England and the US are selling well, smaller teams much slower. Efforts are being made in NZ to contact ethnic and cultural groups relating to the smaller nations to drum up support.
FIFA has a huge investment in women’s football and it is intended to have equal prize money for the men’s and women’s World Cups in 2026 and 2027 respectively.
Each of the 732 players in the 32 teams playing next month will receive $US30,000. The 23 players involved in the winning team will receive $US45,270. The total prize money will be $US110 million.
Broadcasting deals for England, France, Germany, Italy and Spain have yet to be signed.0 -

It's a conflicting issue. He holds most of the cards. If the tournament doesn't get legitimate licensed coverage in the home territory of some of the leading contenders he won't give a damn, he'll stick to blaming the TV companies. He doesn't give a damn that he's obliged to get the best deal for FIFA - even if that means that the BBC, RDF, Rai Une etc only paid €1M each. He's effectively running a one man show, all the while he's protected by the flagrantly corrupt structure that cheerfully rented its arse to Qatar he's teflon coated.
As much as we'd like to be able to watch our team, all we're likely to have Infantino's pantomime villain to slag off.
Even England's first choice first choice squad would still have a problem overcoming the yanks. We might be saved the pain of watching a semi-final or final defeat.1 -

They won't even play the same number of games, as the 2027 women's world cup is currently scheduled to be 32 teams and the 2026 mens will be 48.0 -

Thanks so much for that McB. She played for Charlton between 2004-2007 and made 102 appearances for England between 2004-2016, 33 goals. She played in the 2015 FIFA World Cup.

Must have been a few more, as our Women's team was one of the best in the country when we were a Premier League team0 -
