  • Yadav now out for Middx but they have another batting point at 350-7
  • So, Middx have 24 overs and three wickets in hand to get 50 for four batting points and 100 for the maximum five points. It's that collective responsibility for the first time this season as they've taken more batting points already in this game than the rest of the games put together.
  • Now 352-8. Higgins still there on 136*
  • Higgins out, so can't see Middlesex getting 400. We need 350 to match their batting points.
  • 50 (146) for Compton

    155-3
  • Middx 358-9 and Higgins has been run out!!!
  • 50 (146) for Compton

    155-3
My stream keeps running slow, however much I try to move it forward!
  • Middx are 366 all out. So, as things stand, we are still one point ahead. If we can get to 350 and draw the game then the only way that Middx can finish above us is by beating Notts

I have that problem too. It is quite annoying too.
  • Crawley is unwell and will not play in the match

It's quite helpful that by batting second in this match we know how many runs we need. Rather than batting riskily and quickly to get 450 in 110 overs, we now know that we HAVE to get 350
  • Notts 13-1. Hameed gone.
  • Is that Comptons highest score this season?

Is that Comptons highest score this season?
No he has scored a ton this season though that was very early season I believe. He's had a poor season by the standards he set last season but is our top scorer with 721 runs at an average of 31.34. He's also batting in the hardest place to bowl against the new ball.
  • 231-3 at tea and now 96 runs behind

    Compton 90* (198)
    Denly 39* (65)

Worrying potential of a Notts collapse if they’re already mentally done for the season.
  • Massive irony that just about every Kent fan wanted to see Zak striding out to the middle instead of the out of form Compton this morning...

Indeed though I did originally think that we might have nominated Muyeye just because he has a tendency to get 30 or 40 and out whereas Compton has that capability to hang around for time and allow the others to bat around him. Getting to 350 might just be enough to keep us up.

  • Rain has stopped play in the Middx game which is good news for us. The more rain the better assuming we get to that magical 350!

Nepal became the first team to score 300 in a men's T20 as records tumbled in their thrashing of Mongolia at the Asian Games in China.

Nepal scored 314-3 before dismissing Mongolia for 41 to win by a men's record margin of 273 runs.

Kushal Malla hit a 34-ball hundred, the fastest T20 international ton, and Dipendra Singh Airee the fastest fifty.

Airee made his half-century in nine balls and ended unbeaten on 52 from 10 while Malla scored 137 not out from 50.

The previous record for the fastest T20 international hundred was 35 balls, jointly held by South Africa's David Miller, India's Rohit Sharma and Czech Republic's Sudesh Wickramasekara.

Airee's knock featured eight sixes and two twos, including sixes from each of his first five deliveries.

He ended with a strike-rate of 520 runs per hundred balls - the first time a batter has ended an innings of 10 balls or more with a strike-rate over 500.

Malla struck eight fours and 12 sixes after coming in at 42-1 in the fifth over.

In total there were 26 sixes in Nepal's innings giving them another record.

The previous international record was jointly held by Afghanistan and West Indies while Balkh Legend hit 23 in the Afghanistan Premier League in 2018.

Mongolia became an International Cricket Council (ICC) associate member in 2021 but were competing in their first international match.

Nepal are 17th in the ICC rankings.

  • Compton out 95

  • Arghhh

Compo out for 95. He deserved a ton.

More importantly, we still need 105 for 3 batting points
  • Oh dear oh dear. Compton is out for 95 (211) playing a non Compton shot at fine leg!

    245-4
  • And off for bad light 5 runs later after Denly is clomped on the helmet

Seb and a former Kent team mate of his Joe McCaffrey (son of Sky's Rob McCaffrey) are both qualified to play cricket for Hungary - yes they do have a a cricket team and are ICC Associate Members. It's results like this that will rather put them off the idea of doing so!
  • Bad light stopped play at 250-4
  • Some of the international records for T20s are ludicrous, where top teams play minnows, or minnows play mini-minnows...
  • Two beamers from Blatherwick in the same over mean he's out of the attack.
