Kent CCC 2023

  • That was the first time this season any of our bowlers had picked up 5 wickets in a innings
  • Qadri picks up the final wicket

    237 all out
  • At least 3 bonus points.

Now need Compton to dig in and the rest to bat us to 450 plus for more bonus points and a platform to bowl them out again.
  • Keeping Agar on was a very wise decision

He is someone who we could worse than signing next season for all competitions. He's unlikely to cost top dollar and his game is suited to all formats.
  • Is there a bigger contrast in styles so far as openers are concerned as Muyeye and Compton?
  • Compton beaten by a beauty

    17-1
  • Compton gone a bit off the boil recently
  • Muyeye goes to his 50 with a maximum
  • 110-1 off 31 overs and 127 behind at close of play

    Muyeye 58* (82)
    DBD 48* (88)

Bringing their Blast form into the CC. You'd expect batting to be easy with a 31 over old ball.
  • DBD reaches his 50
  • Let’s hope they both get centuries, particularly Muyeye.
  • I think this demonstrates how well we bowled and how poorly most of them batted. Keogh demonstrated that there was very little in the wicket and half a dozen of the others got in but gave their wicket up.
  • Brilliant

Have said before, I think the 6 game mini series between Kent, Northants and Middx will decide the relegation spots
  • Great stuff. That looked a below par score on a day 1 pitch under the scorching sun, and with the Kookaburra ball too, and we're showing it. Great chance for big batting points.
  • DBD reaches his ton too - off 177 balls. His 16th FC hundred

239-1 & we are ahead by 2. Partnership of 222

    Muyeye 129* (159)
    DBD 102* (178)

  • 264-1 at lunch and a lead of 27. Partnership of 247

    Muyeye 139* (171)
    DBD 115* (194)
  • Muyeye gets his maiden First Class ton - off 133 balls. The first of many hopefully.

    197-1

    Muyeye 103* (133)
    DBD 86* (161)
He can play this boy, I think he will go on to big things. Very much the modern-day batsman!

The most amazing thing about it all is that we nicked him from Sussex
  • Muyeye 150* (182)
  • 300-1

    Muyeye 151* (184)
    DBD 139* (227)

  • 300 partnership up

    317-1

    Muyeye 162* (195)
    DBD 143* (235)

  • These two have got some way to beat Cox and Leaning's all time record of 423 runs for any wicket partnership - that was also for the 2nd wicket which is even more surprising given that those two are batting at 5 and 6 in this game.
  • Muyeye out for 179 (205)

    335-2 and a lead of 98
  • Muyere departs for 179 after a partnership of 318.

He made a good start but couldn't make it a biggun ... ;)

    Well played lad.

DBD still there on 144, Denners comes in to flash the blade and throw his wicket away in single figures.

    335-2, a lead of 98.
  • DBD reaches his 150
