Bold team selections but not sure I'd argue with much of it. Needing to include the likes of Ness, Henry and Kanu before they're ready shows our lack of depth. hopefully we can bring in some decent players during the Jan window
he loves a 3 at the back. One of the reasons he lost his job at Birstol apparently.
Our centre backs aren’t good enough to be playing as a two so at least he’s figured that out quickly. 👍
Is it a decision he's made based on our players if he plays the formation at every club?
In his last ten league games in charge at Bristol, he played a back three twice. Other eight times he played a back four.
fair enough. Did no research was only going by fans on their forum.
I only glanced at my scores app without double checking so could be wrong too (although it’s usually more reliable than those dodgy formations that Sky Sports put up sometimes).. Just thought it was worth a look.
Maybe he played back three there a lot in the early days and the reputation stuck, we all know what football fans can be like!
Another switch in formation, and playing style, without the squad depth to really accommodate it.
Hope is we can pick up some bonus points between now and January and then get in the right players.
Probably better suited to 352. Considering we built the team for 433 apart form what, two games, we ain't looked too smart playing that.
Rak-sakyi is young, unfair to pin all hopes on him and has blown hot and cold. CBT only really looked effective coming off the bench. Kirk, pot luck which Kirk turns up
DJ seems to be holidaying in the Bermuda triangle. Stockley, yeah, we know he can't do it alone up top. Lavelle and Inniss could do with a third man to help cover mistakes and shiteness.

We’ve built the team for 433 , other than not having any central forwards that can play that system
Very brave decision... Not just to play Kanu (who I'll come to in a second), but the fact we're playing none of our wide players either, part of our play this season has been reliant on the pace of Rak-Sakyi or Blackett-Taylor, its not worked this season so its not like none of them have done anything to avoid being dropped... Its why I say good luck to Rak-Sakyi if Palace recalled him, as he's done nothing overly special so far to be playing further up the EFL.
Now for Kanu, its brave from Holden...
He's looked a fish out of water when he's previously played for us, and will always root for him, but at times he's looked very Karlan Grantesque where he's been thrown in too early - However he has continued his goalscoring form of late, so deserves the occasional chance, else how will we ever know if he's truly ready or not... Playing alongside Leaburn could be a stroke of genius for him.
Forever, Holden has probably worked out our wide players are shite
Said at the very start of the season I felt Kanu had a part to play this year. Looks like it's here. Why Garner never had a closer look at him was a mystery, especially when you consider the bilge he had available
Well Sandgaard told me that Kanu would play no part in Charltons first team this season.
Believe that this is a step to far with Leaburn also just back from injury and Kanu starting his first league game.
Although JRS has faded recently he is still potent running at defenders, and causing them to back off. Same goes for CBT. Both have pace which is something defenders hate
Will be interesting to see if Clare & Sess can do the same (which I doubt) and do will be left to Payne & the strikers to do the bulk of the "running".
Hmmm, that's an interesting line-up. Hopefully it works out well.
I'm over at my parents for Christmas (Dad insisted on listening to the full 15 minutes of build-up music before the pre-show 🙄), so I'm not going to be doing the match thread today as it takes me ages to type anything on my tablet.

Will miss your information, but have a good Christmas with your family

Surprised Henry is on the bench rather than JFC, and also surprised Chin misses out.
