Oh Gawd. Cue lots of whining scousers filling our screens moaning about wanting justice or some such bollocks - when in fact it's the fans of every other club that's played by the rules that should be demanding the very same.

Still, Everton and Forest are clearly clubs the PL thinks they can bully. All gone a bit quiet on the likes of Man City and Chelsea, hasn't it?!
The Everton fans screaming “corruption” when their club had acknowledged wrongdoing was one of the weirdest things that happened this season.

I think the Man City stuff is being investigated, but given the volume/complexity of the charges it’s going to take a while.
The Man City situation sucks though.

It's making the PL look ridiculous when the giants are seen to be getting away with it, when the smaller clubs are quickly charged and punished.
  • Do one thing wrong and they will come down hard and fast. Do over a hundred things wrong and it will drag on for years and be meaningless if/when any punishment is imposed.
  • A lot easier to come down hard on clubs like Everton & Forest than do a proper investigation on City.

Like the EFL, they’re not fit for purpose.

But they are actively being investigated, they aren’t “getting away with it”.

Now clearly if they are ultimately found to be in breach of some of the more serious charges and don’t get a significant punishment then it would definitely be fair to question things.

Man City everyone knows have been charged and the case will take months if not years to go to court.

Chelsea are fine for now in terms of FFP. Yes they spent a fortune but they spread the payments across multiple year contracts and have recouped a lot in sales (over 200m last summer). Their issues will come in a year or 2 if they don't make further sales and don't get into the champions league.

As for the alleged illegal payments by Abramovich i'm sure it was only mentioned they were under investigation just a few weeks ago, so the Premier league probably haven't reached a conclusion on charging them yet.
  • Still don’t understand how Everton and Forest are investigated fairly quickly after committing one transgression but City have somehow managed to commit 115 before they get investigated. Doesn’t seem like the same level of scrutiny was used to me.

The assumption would be that once you submit your accounts for the year it must be pretty obvious whether you are within or over the loss limit allowed by the league, hence it's a quick and easy investigation.

I get that, but a 115 offences! I think going back several years so you have to wonder how much scrutiny City were under over a considerable timeframe. Of course they may have done nothing
wrong but maybe looking at the yearly accounts isn’t good enough.

Agreed. How have they been able to clock up so many alleged offences? It's not as if they were all in the same year.

  • Premier League chief exec Richard Masters tells MPs that date has been set for Man City 115 charges hearing "but I can't say when that is".
Insists "the volume and character" of Man City charges are different to those against Everton and Forest.

  • Arsenal take an early lead over Palace.
  • 2 nil Arsenal
  • Why is that given as an own goal? It was clearly going in if it hadn’t hit the keeper’s head. Isn’t that usually the rule?
  • Honestly wonder how much longer Palace give Hodgson. Got to be tempting for their hierarchy to look at Potter or Steve Cooper. Could still easily find themselves in a scrap for survival with sides behind them with games in hand.

Not seen a replay but I thought it may not have gone in he looked like he tobleroned it across the goal

  • Frank de Boer should be allowed to finish the job he started.

Potter is there watching the game.....
  • I generally dislike it when big teams decimate smaller teams by signing up their best players, but the sooner one of the big boys takes Tyrick Mitchell off of the Nigels the better. Guehi too, to be fair.
And I say that after watching them concede 3 goals today!
  • What is it the Nigels are moaning about exactly?

    Make that 4.
    😎
  • Safe travels to the Arsenal fans getting home... the Holmesdale rabble are getting miffed
  • Haha how long have they been in the league now? And what have they spent all that money on? Certainly not big name players, a big name manager or a shiny new stadium. They've rebuilt the academy and training ground but that's small fry stuff compared to how much they've taken in from TV revenue in the past 10 seasons.

I hope they either go down this season, or spend a load on absolute duds and go down next season. Their number will be called soon though of that I'm sure
