I'm going to Seville in February for my birthday. Any recommendations on places to visit, eat or drink appreciated.
anywhere and everywhere...a lovely city.
@Wilma Went last year in Feb, as sporadic says, its beautiful with endless stuff to see and do and lovely places to eat and drink on every corner.
Seville cathedral, Alcazar of Seville, The Plaza de Espana, and the bullfighting arena are just a few places that spring to mind and also try and spend an evening in Triana district. A river trip was pleasant too.
Booked a family group tour in Borneo for august, with a couple of day in Kuala Lumpar each end. Did something similar in Thailand last year, us and a couple other families. Great fun and took all the stress out of it. Don't imagine we can afford to do this every year but I've always wanted to go

Was there for 9 days last summer, stayed at the Shangri La in Kota Kinabalu and then a lodge on the Kinabatangun. Wonderful memories.
Me and the Mrs have just decided to book a last minute holiday. We are off to Morocco next week, all inclusive. Inlaws are out there at the mo and have had good things to say so have decided to just go for it. May as well make the most of these holidays while the little one isn't in school.
Three days in Woolacombe at the end of April with the MiL, who will bellyache about everything all the time. This is a strategic move so we don't have to take her away when we spend a week somewhere else, maybe north Wales, in May. She can go to her son's in Paignton instead.
I'll also spend a week or so in Budapest with a couple of friends, maybe repeating our road trip of 2022 to give us a chance to stop off in some pretty places en route.
Kalkan in Turkey, 10 nights at a boutique hotel/spa with own pool on B & B basis in August.
Intend to scoff myself silly at breakfast so I don't have to worry about lunch and then 10min stroll to the harbour in the evening for the bars and restaurants.
We usually only holiday where we can ride a motorbike to in reasonable time. We've decided to go way outside our comfort zone this year. We hate the process of flying.
2 nights in Singapore to meet up with a West Ham fan. His dad was a true Red, so no idea what happened there.
Just over a month in New Zealand in a camper van, all over.
2 nights in Brisbane with a Charlton fan, then travel to Sydney to stay with another friend for 2 nights, then back to Singapore for 2 more nights.
3 months later we are driving to Portugal via Spain to house sit for friends for 3 weeks.
Never been to any of these places before.
Our businesses and income have to be put on hold for a while.

I loved Kalkan. The harbour bars & restaurants were stunning. Enjoy!

Awesome. I spent 9 months in NZ some 24 yrs ago now. My fav country in the world, it is simply exceptional. Have a wonderful time and if you like walking try one of their 3-4 day treks if you can fit it in... As I recall I did the Milford, Heafy, Keplar, Routeburn and Able Tasman.

There is quite a large Charlton contingent in NZ atm. You should connect with @Danepak who is always game for a beer!

Absolutely. There’s actually a few of us in Auckland. We also have people in Tauranga, Rotorua, Wellington and Nelson (he owns a vineyard).

Did a tapas tour when there last week, was a nice way of getting history/culture/food/wine all in one go. Not essential because I think youd struggle to find a bad place to eat but was something different

Heading off to Melbourne at the beginning of April for 7 weeks to visit our daughter and husband (who has picked up a football contract out there).
Any suggestions for things to see and do in that area?. We are planning to spend some time touring parts of the east coast too.
Only an hour by plane but squeeze in Sydney.
Cheers mate. Sydney, gold coast etc are already on the agenda. If anyone has any suggestions around the Melbourne area / tips on places to eat and drink etc would be appreciated 😀.

Take some factor 20, I got sunburned in Feb!
Love a villa holiday. Beer and BBQ heaven.

Would like to do another week somewhere or at least 4 days but stuck for ideas!
