Been to Paphos about a dozen times mainly for golf. Aphrodite Hills is a great course but must point out that Cyprus gets very very hot in midsummer.
We never go July or August, it's just too hot. June and September the best months in my opinion, bonus being it's less busy as the kids are still at school.
The problem being that most people with children would probably have to go in the school holidays which are the hottest months. Generally though Cyprus has good weather all the year round.
We now go on holiday with the grandkids in February half term for a week and October half term for 10 nights. Still expensive but far cheaper than the main summer holiday period.
We're looking at similar ideas at the moment - Easter too.
If anyone has any recommendations of quite reasonable and still warm enough for a swim (not a fan of 40° etc, mid to late 20s maybe?), would appreciate it.
Off on a 7 night Carribean cruise to Mexico, Belize, and Honduras in a couple weeks. First time off since our honeymoon exactly one year ago. A much needed break
On day six of a six and a half week road trip through Italy. In Lake Como at the moment. Going to the Amafi Coast then we have a villa with a pool in Bologna to enjoy.
Anti tourist groups are growing in Spain, the Balearics and the Canaries. They are even going to disrupt airports. Without tourism there would be mass unemployment. Will these actions affect your future holiday plans?
Going to Tunisia next week, anyone else been with stuff to recommend/avoid?
Stayed in Sousse and got the train to Tunis and visited Carthage. Done one organised trip out to the desert and the colosseum at El Jem.....all good but was a while ago....early 90's.
It will be interesting to see how these Anti-tourist groups progress or whether their action just fizzles out especially when it’s out of the peak holiday season. I normally go to a Spanish resort (Gandia) out of seasons in October for a month because I can get a cheap apartment. And its not too hot. Most of the holiday apartments in Gandia at this time are empty so it would be strange if there were to be any protests held there. However, I might head to the Canaries in December or January and will look out for any anti-protest groups then.

Thanks mate, the place I'm going to is fairly isolated along the coast, but may do one or two excursions if they have them on offer in the hotel.

I’m currently in Tunisia now, it’s been nice so far and trips are offered to El Jen, Tunis/Carthage etc from the hotel. We are in Hammamet and I believe it’s about an hour to Tunis. So far so good, food outside the hotel is nice and it’s cheap but not everywhere serves alcohol it’s only really at the hotels

Hammamet is literally where we are going, never been before so its great to hear that you've had a good experience. Looking forward to lounging around the hotel, but also hoping to venture out and explore the local area.

Yeah it’s our first time here too! What hotel are you going too? We are in Averreos Iberostar, food is decent for an all inclusive. We went to the marina last night and there isn’t much but it’s a nice walk with a few restaurants and shops
We've just been camping for 3 nights in Cudham over the bank holiday.
At my sister-in-laws house. She's got 3 acres of garden/equestrian land and we camped down on the bottom paddock. 3 tents, 6 adults, 5 kids... loads of outdoor games with the kids, football, cricket (my saffa bro-in-law actually cut and rolled a strip of grass for a cricket pitch!) and an awful lot of eating and drinking. One of the best fun weekends we've had in years.
Does that count as a holiday? I felt like I'd had one by the time we got back. Although I was glad of the chiro appointment on Thursday after 3 nights on an air bed lol

Thats literally where Im staying mate, heading over today in fact! Sounds like we made the right choice, not too bothered about not being in centre of a busy city or something, we are there to just chill out for a few days. Shame we didn't pick a week earlier then, I have my Charlton shirt with me we probably would have bumped into each other!

Honduras? Where exactly?
I travelled in Central America early this year and went to Copan in Honduras. Only a brief visit but I enjoyed the Mayan ruins. Also in Belize last year but what I saw there I wasn’t that impressed with either Caye Caulker or Livingston which might be a stop on your cruise. Flores, River Dulce, Ignacio were more enjoyable
Just back from 6 days in Dubai. 4th time there. Know its far from everyone's cup of tea but I know what I'm going there for. Ridiculous amounts of things to do with my kids, great restaurants/food and service is always brilliant.
In Amalfi now. Stunning view of the sea from hotel balcony on cliffs.
We stayed in a hotel on the cliffs there a few years ago. Can't remember the name but we were right by a lemon tree orchard. Stunning place.
We were recommended a restaurant run by two sisters up in the hills which was fantastic. Really catered for locals and they didn't speak a word of English but my wife's Italian is fairly decent so we managed to get by.
Going to Germany for 11 days for the Euros so trying to appease the missus with a week in Tenerife later in the summer. Anyone have any decent recommendations on hotels/areas? Cheers!

Guaramina Princess in Adeje is good mate. Or go up the coast a bit to PLaya Paraiso - Riu Buenavista or the Hard Rock Hotel. You can still cab it to Las Americas if you want that sort of thing or stay put and chill - I love Adeje - been there loads. Great late getaway.

Sorry only just seen this and I’m off home today! That’s pretty much what we done, it’s been a decent holiday and hotel is good
Had a good few days at Butlins Bognor last week. I know its some peoples idea of hell but my kids continue to love it. And if they’re happy, I’m happy 👍

Have taken our daughter there a couple of times, she loved it. I quite enjoyed it as well.
