Comments

  • Finch is opening instead of Compton
  • Compton has a sore neck but will bat later. At least Finch hasn't had to do something strenuous like keep wicket for 114 overs
  • Stationing myself behind the sofa for the remainder of today's play, dancing shoes securely laced for the duration.
  • That went well.....

Concentrate on your central contract, Zak.
  • Crawley caught Foakes bowled Worrall 4
  • DBD bowled Worrall 10

    38-2
  • Finch gone now
  • I love seeing new comments when we’re bowling… less so when batting ffs.
  • Good job we bat to 11........
  • 76-3 Denly and Leaning in. Doesn't look good for Kent avoiding defeat.

    Fanny dance away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • Denly out for 38 - chipped a ball from Steel to Lawrence at short midwicket. The brick wall is in now though.

    97-4
  • Leaning caught in the slips by Sibley off Worrall for 24

    102-5
  • 120-5 at close, needing another 179 to avoid an innings defeat
  • How many we gonna set them…..
  • Chinese torture but we are currently 159-6 and 140 runs behind. The man to go was Compton - caught by Foakes off the bowling of Worrall
  • Will it last until lunch?
  • Clutching at straws here but maybe better to have our strongest side available for games we might have a chance of winning ?

    Evison for Kent:

    Innings - 22
    Runs - 765
    HS - 99
    Average - 34.77

That average is comparable to most of our batsmen but is actually more impressive than at face value - one because it isn't skewed by one massive innings and two because of the number of times that he has got out putting bat to ball as he has run out of partners. So, once Crawley does disappear again and given that Muyeye's technique does not stand up to scrutiny, the fact that none of DBD, Leaning and Denly want to open, is there an argument for him to be given the chance to do so? It would also mean that Muyeye can play his natural game at 7.
  • Garrett LBW Steel 5 (15)

226-8 and still another 73 required to make Surrey bat again

He's very much a batting all rounder, so not the worst alternative.

We could just save everyone a lot of time and effort (OK, not much effort)by starting our innings at, say 100-5, and just letting the tail bat.
