A sobering stat - the opposition have scored at least 400 in the first innings of 11 of our 12 matches. The only one they didn't do so in was the televised game against Lancashire which was our only victory of the season. In that match, Agar and Gilchrist took 15 of the 20 wickets to fall between them for just 193 runs.
Tea - Leaning and Finch (94 & 56 respectively) have batted the whole session for a lead of 72. If we bat for another 20 overs that will be enough to save the game.
That’s what I was thinking! Would Hants go all out for it though? If they do and it goes well we’ve lost 8 points, if they lose a couple of wickets surely they’ll just play for the draw?

No point in going for a win and risking a defeat.
Adraw will do nicely.
That effectively ended any chance of a run chase
