That looked like a group of players who turned up realised that the opposition wanted to win and thought fuck it canāt be bothered, I donāt believe that players go on to the pitch not wanting it, but after watching that Iām having 2nd thoughtsĀ
itās a good job weāre concentrating on the league, having pick pocketed 4 points from 2 of the bottom 4 in the last 2 games. On a roll and we certainly donāt need any silly cup distractions.Ā
Well that was another cold depressing afternoon following Charlton my favourite team. i hope that shower who played today just feel a tiny bit of the disappointment and embarrassment I feel tonightĀ I doubt it. If I performed like that at work I would be showen the door
That was as shit a performance as I've seen for ..........about 4 weeks.Ā
We have a serious problem with players who don't giveĀ a fuck. Half of today's players hardly broke sweat.Ā
Scott and Methven can give as many fancy speeches as they like but Until they give us the players we need I shall continue to believe they are a pair of chancers.Ā
Disgraceful really isn't it? You can't talk about getting promoted from league one when you need a replay against a team in the 60th tier and lose to a team the league below you.Ā
Charlton the only team to let me down in an eight fold. Sick of this constant crap we are being subject to. Need major work in January if we even think we can challenge for a play off spot.Ā
Did you have us to lose by more than two?
Important gambling lesson here: never, ever involve Charlton in a bet as they will find a way to let you down whether you backing them to win or lose.
Think we were completely shocked by how Gills started and fair play to them for that. Went far too attacking after their goal and then I donāt think our players ever thought theyād score 3. Tedic ran around but did nothing. TC was poor, CBT & May anonymous. Wouldāve been a great game to play Hector and give him some confidence. I know heās been poor but think heād have done better than Ness today. Always liked Lapslie but he was never as good as we made him look today
We huffed and puffed on Tuesday, and just about got away with it. Ā Weāre still in the same position weāve been for 3 years now. Ā We have one or two good players, maybe closer to 5 this season, but we cannot rely on them to consistently turn up, week in, week out and it be enough to carry the rest of the dross. Ā
Weāre shaping up for a repeat of 21/22 & 22/23 just a different cast of charactersĀ
The only way weāre getting out of this league is a major influx of quality, more than likely at a significant cost.
I donāt believe we have the nous or the infrastructure within the club to do it with free transfers and loans, and I expect this will become apparent to the owners by the end of this season. Ā
On reflection of that game I think few things come to mind one the draw itself one team we did not want especially away because of the fans that would travel and the team he would have to play .. second deep down MA will be happy that we got through the game with no injuries or any red cards, that if your going to have an off day do it in the cup and again the players banging on his door to play failed to deliver .. we will never know what instructions we were under or how the news about Leaburn affected the side but it was clear we never really got above 60% or really put our foot in ? But saying that the worst thing we could do was give Gillingham a massive confidence boost when the game really was pretty even .. AMB a mistake waiting to happen again come charging out for no reason and goal .. and the game changed ā¦ another loose play from Ness straight after and we found ourselves two down and Gillingham had not really created a chance !!Ā
CBT , Campbell , L Watson failed miserably today to create a single opportunity.. that showed in May frustration .. and Tedic never really stood a chance today .. ā¦ surely C Campbell is better then T Campbell . Jones looks half the player without Hector .. Assiwme to many errors again .. Without Leaburn or Aneke we got to change our style .. Tedic , Kanu May are not the same players but donāt think we got the wingers with the intelligence to work it out ..as I said would not swap any points in the league for a win in the cup as Pompey manager said after losing to non league side ā we are not going to win it ā ā¦.
I won't swear but the type of player required in January begins with C. Yes they need to be able to kick a ball but they also need to be a C. One needed in midfield, One needed up front and one needed in central defence. Then see where that gets us. In December we have to pick up enough points to stay in touch.

Upto the mistake by AMB it was pretty even game the only chance was May .. but you canāt give them a leg up like AMB didĀ
Unacceptable first half, no effort, no hunger. I was expecting a real show of desire in the second half, but instead it was more of the same, and Gillingham should have got the third to kill us off.
Not excusing some unacceptable individual performances, but I've never been convinced by our 4231 tactics, especially away from home, as we end up with 4 attacking players, 2 attacking full backs, and a completely swamped midfield 2.Ā
It was a bit of a pisstake giving Bonne MOTM so I can't blame Gillingham, but Lapslie was everywhere for them and my MOTM. He always gives 100%, but you could see he was really up for it today.Ā

that is now 3 games where May has not had a shot in open play on target. We were poor against Cheltenham but saved by 2 penalties and by all accounts today the team are following that downward trend - worrying
Absolute piss poor. We have such a soft underbelly itās embarrassing. Supporting this club has often been depressing but itās starting to become painfulĀ

Weāve had no steel in the side since Bowyer was manager. And probably for a while before that too. Another low.
That's a good point. We came up against two sides in Cheltenham and Gillingham who will be in your face in terms of how they approach the game. Whatever signings are made in January that must be addressed, centre back, centre midfield and centre forward, all with experience.Ā
The only positive that I can take from today is that performances like that have become so commonplace in the last 10 years or so that I am no longer surprised when they occur and no longer feel the pain and anger and weekend upset like I used to.
I used to get the right hump when we lost when I was a teenager. This afternoon I turned on Final Score at just gone 5 o'clock and was more surprised by the fact that we were still playing than that we were losing. Supporting us is definitely the triumph of hope over experience at the moment, but I must confess I have no sympathy for people who lost money betting on us today, cos you really ought to know better by now. Tons of sympathy for those who spent a couple of hours out in the cold watching that though, and I hope you're back in the warm soon if you aren't already.

Thought we have enough C*&Ā£# as it is š but yeah I agree.

Deliver in January or fuck off.
Nowhere near good enough.Ā
