Think we were completely shocked by how Gills started and fair play to them for that. Went far too attacking after their goal and then I donāt think our players ever thought theyād score 3. Tedic ran around but did nothing. TC was poor, CBT & May anonymous. Wouldāve been a great game to play Hector and give him some confidence. I know heās been poor but think heād have done better than Ness today. Always liked Lapslie but he was never as good as we made him look today
Upto the mistake by AMB it was pretty even game the only chance was May .. but you canāt give them a leg up like AMB didĀ
He was at fault for the Cheltenham goal as well, he's a young player learning the game but even if he does make a mistake, his more senior team mates should step up their game.Ā
that is now 3 games where May has not had a shot in open play on target. We were poor against Cheltenham but saved by 2 penalties and by all accounts today the team are following that downward trend - worrying
Keep playing him out wide with no proper striker in the middle and that will no doubt continue
Gillingham clearly wanted it more than us. Fought for every ball. Not too down. What we need to do is stay in range and then replace some of the weak players we have in January (I don'y just mean physically but mentally too). Also some young players needs loan. Ness is so mistake ridden it cannot be ignored.
Problem is I don't trust Scott to replace them with anyone better and for Appleton to then get them playing as a team.Ā
Christ, weāre not going to start calling for yet another manager sacking are we?? Is that what people want?

As we saw before May can't play up front by himself and that's effectively what he's doing when Tedic is on the field. We could be in trouble over the next month until we can get a proper strike partner in for him.

A rhetorical question James as that's exactly what they are calling for. Three defeats in seventeen games doesn't matter to these knuckle draggers. They specialise in the negative and in Charlton Athletic the easiest thing to be is negative. It's the same old names, and the same old rhetoric, boring, tired rants.Ā Ā
What a pile of kak that must have been to have to sit/stand through, and respect to every single one of the 1600+ diehards who attended. That's about it really, wasn't there, didn't watch on one of the streams available, and had to take my lead from Terry and the Comms team, which was painful enough, just wonder who will be held aloft as today's MOTM in the players points thread...we really are turning into the reality of the Jim Davidson "Charlton Nil" joke, and it ain't bloody funny...š«
Sounds like an absolute shower of shit, team and apples need to have a very hard look at themselves. Appalling from what I have read, couldn't get a feed and frankly was probably good I couldn't. Get paid a shit ton of money by most people's standards and just don't turn up to do the job. Wankers !
I don't think Apples like this squad. I get the idea he thinks they're a bunch of lightweights. But he keeps bigging up January. How much business are we realistically going to do in this window? It's notoriously difficult and usually ends up in a final day scramble where we take what we can get.Ā
Canāt believe Andy Scott had the gall to bring Lucas Ness and Tyreece Campbell to the club.
He didn't obviously bring either in but if he had bought better players in than he has they could both be out on loan getting experience before being lobbed in with us.
Instead we got Tedic, Isted, T Thomas, Penny, Abankwah, Chem Campbell, T Kane, Edun, T Watson and other junk I can't remember.Ā Jones is decent, L Watson ok but on loan. Still, I am sure that in 2-3 more windows time we will have built on our current foundation of, er..?Ā

Where did anyone call for another manager sacking? You are rewriting what people said.
I'm just defrosting now, went behind enemy lines for this one and to be honest I'm glad I did. So many of our players are bottlejobs. May and Dobson set themselves a standard at least of effort and tend to stick to it. Both looked to receive the ball and always compete, the rest. Holy shit it was awful and I would not even say it was a gutsy, ballsy Gillingham performance. They were astounded at how bad we were. Some of these youngsters need to take a leaf out of the Jonjo/Bowyer/Gomez book and grow an arsehole. They are clearly decent footballers and I'm being unfair singling youngsters out as so many of our senior professionals don't seem to realise the base level fundamental of earning the right to play by competing.Ā
Football is not a complicated game, I played for as long as I did by competing and making better players than me have miserable games. Unless you are 2008 Barcelona you cannot just expect to play mincey passes, hang a leg out, and wait for the perfect ball to feet. In fact that's not even true as that Barca side worked their arses off out of possession. We stink. We stank the other night too.Ā
These players are at a level where they can make a platform for a decent career as a professional or they can doss it off and become a superstar for some 10th tier side if they are lucky and realise too late they wasted an amazing opportunity. We have a squad full of pussies, still.Ā

Where has anyone in the comments above called for another manager sacking? They havenāt. But you go ahead and twist peopleās words to suit your own rhetoric and defence of another shit show of a performance.

Yes it is, and rightly so
Behave. We're all pissed off, but surely we give a manager at least one transfer window to make improvements and get his own players in, don't we?
Sat in a freezing cold away end watching no effort from our players. Micky Apples looked brain the whole game in post match interview.Ā
No desire to change to a system that wasnāt working or think about how we might look going forward.
Joke of a day. Best thing the squad can right now is not pull a scrappy win out the bag against reading mid week but instead think about refunding all the fans who turned up to watch that pile of shite in the cold. Least they could do.
Not happy watching Scott Fraser shrug his shoulders at the end walking off, Appleton mindlessly clapping like a tactical brain dead zombie, or Louis Watson (who had his absolute worst game for us today) tapping on his heart. Oh Louis Iām sure your many thousands of pound a week keeps you warm safe and happy at night even after your midfield nightmare.Ā
I won't swear but the type of player required in January begins with C. Yes they need to be able to kick a ball but they also need to be a C. One needed in midfield, One needed up front and one needed in central defence. Then see where that gets us. In December we have to pick up enough points to stay in touch.
Spot on. Our players are too nice and half of them are shit and too nice.
You need a thick skin, and a sense of humour following this mob at times.
Getting harder and harder to follow the team! 15 out of 17 years of self inflicted dross!Ā Ā
Can't change my club, but it's hard work! At least I had the Lennie and Curbs years to look back on fondly, feel sorry for those thatĀ were born too recently to be able to have those memories!

AMB, Ness, Aswimwe and Campbell shouldn't be anywhere near our starting 11 but have become stalwarts this season.
