Yet another 50 to Jaiswal. He's got almost double as many runs (595) as the next batsman from both sides in the Series (Duckett - 299).

    Jaiswal "run machine" reaches 50.

Twice he could have been out in this innings if the 2nd slip or the keeper had been a tad closer when he edged the ball off Robinson.

It can be quite hard to know where to stand on wickets like this. You move up for those that are mainly keeping low but then you find one that hits a crack and you end up dropping it because you're standing too close! The slips, within a tolerance of a step or so, take their mark from the keeper so it's even more important that the keeper gets it right but, in some situations, it's really not easy for him to do so.
  • Patidar LBW Bashir 17
    112/3

    Super Rod 👍
  • Rod Tucker loves a bit of Bashir
  • Bashir is bowling really well.
  • I think I'd want "danger money" to be fielding a yard or so, on the drive, from the bat with a rookie bowling and Jaiswal or Jadeja batting!
  • Seriously, which stump did we actually think that was hitting!!!

    Just for the Craic/Crack

You could see straight away that was missing.

2 x 6's on the spin from Jadeja against Hartley.
  • Bashir ripping through India - has Jadeja caught by Pope at short leg.

  • Bashir 15-2-32-3. Now that is Test bowling.

  • 20 year old rookie spinner on fire with his 3rd wicket.
    130-4
    Jadeja c Pope b Bashir 12 (2x6)
  • As well as Hartely, Bashir and Ahmed have bowled at times in this Series, the real test will not be on bunsen burners, it will be the times when there isn't anything in the wicket and they have to hold an end up. Which is why they still need to go back to county cricket and bowl overs and continue to learn their craft.

    131/4 at tea. 38 overs

The fast tracking of Bashir seems to be a good decision. Only his 8th 1st class match.
  • 131-4 off 38 overs at tea and still 222 runs behind. Get Jaiswal quickly after tea and they will be in trouble.
  • England's field positions much better than India's in creating pressure. Much to Ali Cook's surprise!
  • Would love to see a talent like Jaiswal come and play county but I doubt the BCCI would ever allow that. They're far too precious about their players.
  • Direct hit and Sarfaraz was run out but he made it home just.

And there it is! Bashir bowls Jaiswal.
  • Brilliant bowling by Bashir with Jaiswal B for 73

  • if a spinner at one end is ripping through them, why aren't we bowling spin at both ends?

    We are

    We are ?

Tom Hartley 9 overs for 28 and in his 10th over.

Hartley in the Broad review class after another one disappears!
  • Opps, the cric info app showed that only 3 bowlers had been used. Refreshed and I can now see 😬

Sarfaz  c Root b Hartley and Tom joins the party.
    171/6

Pressure isn't just crowding the bat.
  • 245-7 when Robinson came to the crease. That 100 stand with Root is looking more and more match changing.

24 overs in a row and England's rookie spinner Bashir goes down with cramp.

He got knocked down but he's up again and still bowling.
  • Umpires call - what a beautiful invention.

177-7 lucky for some and Hartley gets his 2nd wicket.

    Ashwin LBW B Hartley 1

The two inexperienced spin twins are working well in tandem under the sublime captaincy of Stokes.
  • Weird to see a team in India prodding nervously against spinners and going nowhere, when it's the home side.
