If we went to Bolton today, with Appleton still in charge, we would have been slaughtered
BUT we didn’t get slaughtered
We had, grit, determination, desire, workrate, application, some skill at times
We had goals in us, we pressed, we never gave up
Yes, squeaky bum time at times, some last ditch defending at times, but bloody hell what a stint they ALL put in, against one of the best teams in Lge shite
That is the CAFC I know and love today - rarely has a point made me so happy to witness - Bolton fans who saw them dismantle us at The Valley must have been rubbing their eyes in amazement
We were 1-0 up, then 2-1 up, then 2-2, then 3-2 down, AND we kept on going and got 3-3
Fucking love this - fighting spirit, and AT LAST some shithousery by us - the division we are in you have to - at times - be utter gits
Kanu MoM by a country mile - excellent
My only gripe - he put subs on 5 to 10 mins too late
Saturday evening and CAFC have given me a warm glow - long time since I’ve felt like this
Lady Flash, to the bedroom …..
Erm….. we were 1-0 down 2-1 up 2-2 then 3-2 up before they equalised
Didn’t watch the match, didn’t follow the match, thought we were onto a loser. But I’m absolutely delighted with a point. Have just watched the goals on Sky Sports. Thought Small’s cross into the box was a peach and Lapado was unlucky not to get a flick. So, we deserved that one. I’m loathed to criticise but all of their goals might have been prevented if we’d been a bit tighter on them. But this is League One football. How many times did their player turn in the box for the second. Could’ve got a foot in there, I reckon. Still, looking forward to next week. Bring on Pompei …
What you won't have got from those highlights for the second is that most of the players he turned were on a yellow (from memory) so couldn't really stick a foot in
All I can say from today's game is that I have never (this season) felt like i just didn't want the game to end, but at the same time wishing it would...🤷♂️... it was absolutely enthralling and gritty from start to finish...and I felt that if anyone was going to win it would be us... We were unrecognisable from the shambles under that useless prat Appleton, and Nathan has instilled a sense of urgency and belief in everyone, the result in the end was great, but the performance outweighed everything, and I feel very confident that we will carry this through to the end of the season, to secure a safe finish, and springboard to next season... On we go to next week at The Valley and Portsmouth, surely our first 3 points in a long time...COYR
At the game.🙂 So pleased I felt well enough to make the trip. A very exciting game in which everyone in a red shirt had a really good shift…..for which they can all feel well satisfied. This was ‘without doubt’ our best performance of the season……and arguably even longer than that. Bolton were the better footballing side most of the time but we more than matched them for effort and spirit. All Addicks can genuinely feel well satisfied with our performance. Ref was an absolute tosser! 🤨

Black shirt SoundAs, (clearly a freudian slip)...but i agree with your summary...👍
Referee was poor and inconsistent, until our full backs learn how to prevent balls coming into our box and our centre halves don't get goal side of their man we will not see a clean sheet
Aside
Over the moon with the workrate and our high press in the first half was magnificent, ref killed that with the mickey mouse yellows though. Daniel Kanu worked his arse off and was a threat throughout and totally deserved his goal.
Something that needs to be put into these players is the need to stick up for each other, Ashworth took liberties with Chuks and only Anderson pulled him on it. That has to change.
Overall, we play like that against most sides in the division we dish out a pasting. Ian Evatt and that Bolton side will be raging with the Kanu goal as the ref bought everything else they were selling
Despite the changes forced upon Evatt he would still have expected to beat us. We didn’t roll over but did the complete opposite and he should be grateful for a point having been behind twice. You need to take a large spoonful of sugar with those grapes Ian 😏.
Good to see an opposing manager giving us some credit....not
What a moaning, mealy mouthed manager that was. His comments do not reflect the game, and he was trying to deflect from an average performance by his team. Lost some respect for Evatt there. Also blaming the performance on injuries to key players. Have a look at our injury list over the season Ian!!!!
Proper manager. It’s so imperative we stay up for obvious reasons but I think also that Jones will get us up next season. He knows exactly what he’s doing. At last we’ve got the right pieces of the puzzle. Shame Andy Scott left it so late to fire the abysmal Appleton, leaving us in a right hole
Delay in firing Appleton!!. It's bloody Andy Scott who's responsible in the first place for employing him. Thank god he's gone, but my god Scott should be gone too. What an absolute joke he is.

I did not watch or follow the game , so must ask how is a fantastic performance when we conceed3 goals and end up drawing 3 all after being 2-1 according to the BBC summary on line.
Everybody has written how chuffed they are with the intensity and high level of performance away from home, against what is considered the best team in the division with the best home record.
Hey, we even got a very good point, where most of the division leave empty handed.
Mate, this was a blood and thunder game and hard fought by both sides. A few weeks ago we would have been annihilated here 0-4 or 0-5.
And you don't understand why our people are so happy?

Interesting to hear that the team travelled up a day earlier and trained at Evertons training ground, in order to remove the stiffness that players feel when they travel up on a Friday before an away fixture. Well done the club for funding this.
At the game. Deserved to win it. Shit ref made it difficult for us, cos we were in their faces. Then, with all our midfield booked we had to be more careful. Best away performance I can remember in light of the position we're in. Kanu was phenomenal, and Small also stood out for me. Reckon NJ got the tactics absolutely right today and made a bold team selection. Great to see him leading the applause to the away end at full time. On the back of all that, reckon we're going to be safe. Felt there was much more of a team spirit today and definitely more fight.
2 games ago we thought we only had to deal with port vale but Cheltenham have now closed the gap by 4 points to just 1 point behind with 2 games in hand port vale 2 points behind 3 games in hand
So inspite of 1.5 good halves of football we’re well in the shit and after the next two we’ll be in it more .
this performance does give us hope but we need wins to stay up and this leaky defence doesn’t look like shoring up too soon . Karoy and Kanu were outstanding and took me by surprise , play anywhere near like that for the rest of the season and I’ll be overjoyed.
Not as convinced about Isted as others but he’s deffo been a step up from AMB

I don’t think Ashworth will be very welcome round the endz!
Karoy: ‘Bare wasteman in Bolton, innit fam!’ Chuks: ‘Nah, allow it, bruv. These pagans clapped!’ Nathan: ‘u knos it, clart.’
Charlie: 'Come for sups on Wednesday. We can drink gin and get blotto.'
At the end of the day we didn't win....and we needs wins desperately. We now equal an EFL record this season for the number of games without a win. 15. That is a third of a season, and correctly just under half the number of games we've played. By the time we play Pompey it will be 3 months.

Lets turn the clock back to Harland and start again mate. Trust you are keeping well.
This point could make a difference.

Great intensity from all concerned against the best passing team in the league.
Anderson and Kanu were excellent in horrible conditions today
That’s the standard now we require for the next 13 games. Do that and we will stay up.
I'm hoping it's just a case of Jones trying to give him a kick up the arse. Hope it has the desired affect
