A big ask given the caliber and resources of others in this league, together with us making huge changes to our squad when others have most of their squads in place. You only have to look back at Ipswich and the huge investment that was made over several seasons for them to get automatic promotion. Success for me would be to see us become more competitive and winning games. Top six is a stretching and realistic target.

It's both I believe. The women's team playing at the Valley means extra grants etc available to get the upgraded pitch but it had still been planned and arranged for even without that.

Bit of both, owners still have to stump up some cash. Plus, supporting the women's team by having them play at a proper stadium with a reliable pitch is a plus point for me.

He's our quickest centre back, covers well, strong as an ox and has battling fearlessness. I would say that if you are playing Roughan on the left and one of Jackson/O'Connor he is one of our important three. I wouldn't ideally want to play O'C and Jacko together due to the pace issue.
Mitchell's passing appears to have picked up judging by some of his diagonals recently, and if he can add that consistently he would be a favourable addition; with due acknowledgement to your caveat about cost.
Just 22, already one of the best defenders in L1, must surely be a Championship player in due course. Great attitude and is clearly an intelligent lad too.

The way to judge if Jones knows what he is doing is if we secure automatic promotion at the end of the coming season. OK if we win the playoffs it will be acceptable. Anything else is failure.
This doesn’t leave any room for the context of a season though? Birmingham and Huddersfield both have serious cash and will likely be the promoted sides, anything can happen in the playoffs with Posh, Rotherham and Bolton all still being here. I don’t think it’s a case that if we don’t get promoted it has been a failure of a season.

So basically he has a bit of a sense of humour, is as hard as nails, gets on with everyone in the team. Sounds like a bit of a character
