People always say they want to see us do things out the box off the pitch and then when we do there’s usually something people find to moan about. He’s not my cup of tea but it will bring eyeballs to us and to sponsors who will love it
Can’t say I know much about him apart from the snippets that pop up on my social media feed which I quickly scroll through.
But looking at his Wikipedia 3.5 million combined subscribers - I guess even if a small percentage of that become interested in Charlton off the back of it - it can’t be a bad thing right?
Even if the bloke is a bell.
I don’t want people supporting us who are influenced by a plastic that don’t even support us. I want people from sidcup, bexleyheath and dartford supporting us!!
I actually find him quite funny, he plays up for the cameras like mostly everyone does, but he's pretty harmless.
The only thing that bugs me a bit, is they're happy to send him a shirt and advertise him on the tiktok page etc, but reading that Swedish addicks thread, and afkas post about sponsorship, they've faffed around with Charlton family.
That's the only bit that doesn't sit right with me, happy to roll the red carpet for a bit of clout, but not dealing with the real fans first.
If they sorted that out, he's welcome to view us as his 'second team' or whatever b*llocks.

I for one have never said I want us do things outside the box off the pitch. As far as I'm concerned it's what you do on the pitch that will bring the people in. If that doesn't happen then fuck em.

And this is why I never lasted long in marketing.
"Fuck the potential customers" is an underrated marketing slogan.
I find it highly unlikely that the club would entertain this, and find it very strange that he is "following" us at all, as for the condescending "We are his league one club"...sod off you prat...🤦♂️
My main concern with this is that if you pick a team as your 'League One team', how can you be sure they won't be duking it out at Old Trafford (in the league) in a couple of years?

Do they?
It's been said loads and loads on here on discussions of growing attendences etc. This won't grow attendance necessarily but it does raise the profile, might sell a couple of kits and sponsors will be happy to have more eyeballs on their company.

Just really hope they'll be my ""Championship team" one day.

Total guesswork on my part by the way but I would never be surprised
Warhol was right.
