Quite odd from Jones to say that. We're three games in and he's pointed out to the player that he's not fully trusted within the club and wasn't necessarily wanted there and taken a dig at the internal hierarchy. Even if he's right it's not going to be looked on hugely positively that he's grizzling publicly about internal staff and it's a slightly strange time to do it given we've actually started quite well. The only reasons I can see for it are that either he's trying to send a message ahead of the window closing that if he says he needs something he's right and should be listened to to force some transfers, or that he hasn't done anything mad in a while and needed to get it out of his system before he exploded.

Maybe Jones wants someone in before the window closes and is facing opposition.

It is partly Jones' way. He has some hints of Brian Clough about him for me. He is a manager you have to give a lot of rope to and it clearly doesn't fit in with Scott having the power he did in the structure. He didn't have to say it publically, he could have just said it to the board, but he is in a powerful position and is driving it home. I think we would be better off with Scott going and letting Jones pick his successor. I assume Scott has a contract so might not be as easy as that.

There was something quite authentic about it.
Hence he took the opportunity to make a point.
Speculation not knowledge on my part.
