It’s not a good sign that this thread gets a weekly outing.0

I accept recent performances/results haven't been good enough but not everything is down to him. He made changes (I think Mesik should've played instead of Edwards) and we're still not good enough due to the state of our squad and lack of investment. I genuinely don't understand what more he can do for the club. He has taken us so far on a shoestring budget and we still haven't been in the relegation places since returning to the Championship!Sadly, I've got the feeling that those of you that want him gone will get your wish soon enough. I hope you're all happy when we've got some cheap journeyman mug like Gary Rowett in charge as we're relegated back to L1.3

Anyway, I'm waiting for the yearly scrappy win at Middlesborough out of nowhere; coupled with a pop at the fans afterwards in the interview.7

Get someone in before the Bolton and Lincoln games.2

He made changes because the fans was on his back that was all otherwise it would of been the same players/ formation, he is completely out of ideasProperCharlton said:I accept recent performances/results haven't been good enough but not everything is down to him. I think he's taken us as far as he canI just don't think they have the money to sack him2

Shows his general mis management and understanding that could have given us some hope and enjoyment.fenaddick said:
What impact did that have on today’s game?Jobbers said:Just shows how ridiculous he was making 10 changes against Spurs. He is a wally. And if he wasn’t Charlton Manager everyone would think he is a bit of a twat.I miss Lee Bowyer.I don’t think he carries himself well and I’m not proud to call him my Charlton Manager. That’s before we start talking about the terrible football that has driven some fans away (Tickets pricing also a factor).3 -
What do people seriously think is gonna happen when we replace NJ on our budget? At least he has proven he can work with our low budget, get results and turn bad form around.
We will just be left with some mug who wouldn't be given any money in Jan to improve our weak squad.
Keep the faith that NJ can do it again.3 -

I think at this point I am still not sure whether I'm Jones in or out but there is no clear replacement and pulling the trigger spontaneously won't end well. If we enter the relegation zone I doubt we leave it. Jones will get the blame and he certainly has been at fault but too many of the players don't give a fuck and the board don't recruit well enough.
We are in shambles it's not just down to Jones but something needs to change I don't know what but if nothing does we are fucked.3 -
None of this is my wish. We’ve just been out classed by two teams who were in dreadful form.ProperCharlton said:I accept recent performances/results haven't been good enough but not everything is down to him. If you can’t make your mind up about jones after watching the last few matches you’ll never make your mind up . He’s lost the dressing room.YardAddickt said:I think at this point I am still not sure whether I'm Jones in or out but there is no clear replacement and pulling the trigger spontaneously won't end well. Plenty of smoke and mirrors with this ownership set up....in Jones we Have to trust I'm afraid2 -
First time since we rejoined the championship I genuinely think his days are numbered. Awful defensively and awful football and an awful result. Just awful.0

I don’t believe the players don’t care. Awful recruitment and a manager that has run his course , no doubt .YardAddickt said:I think at this point I am still not sure whether I'm Jones in or out but there is no clear replacement and pulling the trigger spontaneously won't end well. Heard that countless times under his tenure but it's never been true. I think we just have a mentally weak squad this seasonBedsaddick said:

We are totally up shit creek, and for a few reasons. This is how I see it:
1) Main money man wants out. Thats why the transfer window was such a shit show. And as I see it, it will be a blocker in paying a shed load of money to move NJ on.
2) In addition to the above, even if we did pay him off, our biggest signing in the summer was Milli Alli. Seeing whats coming (league one), the owners will be even less likely to want to spend money. They are losing too much as it is in their eyes. It will be a Poundland manager.
3) That leads me to my next concern. As we have proven in the past, you can still do well without a large budget. But you need a united and strong leadership structure in the club all working efficiently together. We don't.
In fact, we are fucked in this regard.
There is no experience in running a Championship level football club at any level - and there is absolutely no evidence to suggest they would be able to navigate the process around moving on from NJ and bringing in a competent manager. Especially with a lack of budget.
I think we are currently heading in one direction, and if we make a change now, it wont be too late to try and get back on track. Even if it is unlikely its a chance.
But I don't see it happening, and even if it does, it wont change the bigger picture around the club.
No CEO
No Commercial Lead
No cohesion from ownership down to whats going on at the club on a daily basis.
And lets be honest, a total mess on the pitch.15 -
Change the manager and the problems with our squad are still there.ProperCharlton said:What do people seriously think is gonna happen when we replace NJ on our budget? At least he has proven he can work with our low budget, get results and turn bad form around.

Keep the faith that NJ can do it again.New manager would have to be someone with a proven record of overperforming with a poor squad in the championship. Maybe someone like Nathan Jones? Ah4 -
Problem is, I can't think of anyone realistic and half decent apart from Bow or Challinor1

Think as long as the club is actively up for sale , the owners won't want to pay the compo needed. It'll be muddle through until whenever we're sold.2

Surprised he didn't somehow make it Karen Hills' faultfenaddick said:

Jason Euell ?CAFCsayer said:Problem is, I can't think of anyone realistic and half decent apart from Bow or Challinor1 -
Lee Bowyer isn’t the answer. You’re replacing a manager with a poor record at coaching a 4-2-3-1 with another manager with the exact same problem. He’s a 4-4-2 diamond or 3-5-2 manager and neither of those involve TC on the wing which is a must for us
Challinor is the best available manager that we’d have a chance of getting. Is he a better manager than Jones? Not sure, never managed above league 1 and might not even want the job1 -
They'll go cheap and try to win the fans over with an ex pro like Pearce or bring back Jacko. That will happen after Powell turns them down for the second (maybe third?) time. While Gavin Carter is in charge any decisions will be the attempt to placate fans rather than actually improve usCAFCsayer said:Problem is, I can't think of anyone realistic and half decent apart from Bow or Challinor0 -
Reluctant to say it but yes I think it’s time0

Probably be Rowett tbh and I don't think that's any way an improvement.fenaddick said:

The thing is they do. Just like they had the money to give him in the summer. They chose not to - probably because of the hash he made of the big money signings the summer before. Back him or sack him.Gravesend_Addick said:I think he's taken us as far as he canI just don't think they have the money to sack him1 -
Can’t get any worse can it?1
