I am going to say it!! Yes I am, Nathan Jones......................

We’ve lost the ability to keep clean sheets. Defensively we’re like a sieve.
We haven’t improved with the ball enough to make a real difference.
Jones wasn’t backed with a big enough budget in the summer.
The board can twist the numbers sound like he was with instalments being spread across a few years and some players on bigger wages, but frees, loans and signings in the £500k to £1.5m range isn’t enough at this level.
Jones needs to come up with a system that gets more from this team but his options are limited with the lack of quality.
I can see him going in the next month and Pearce taking over as caretaker. It’ll be like 08/09 again, the board will hope he can get a few results to justify appointing him as the cheap option.10 -
4231 is a crap system if you’ve got no mobility nor creativity in midfield.NabySarr said:Lee Bowyer isn’t the answer. You’re replacing a manager with a poor record at coaching a 4-2-3-1 with another manager with the exact same problem. He’s a 4-4-2 diamond or 3-5-2 manager and neither of those involve TC on the wing which is a must for us
Challinor is the best available manager that we’d have a chance of getting. Is he a better manager than Jones? Not sure, never managed above league 1 and might not even want the job2 -
He got 2 teams relegated last season. Would be a terrible appointment but the problem is that’s our level at the moment. Doubt we can attract much betterMarcusH26 said:

For me it’s stick with Jones until at least the international break, hopefully he can turn things around. If not then we’ve got a break to take stock and if we want to make the change we’ve got some time to do a proper recruitment process2 -

Why cant it...? - Are recent years just prior to Jones not evidence enough? - The replacement could easily take us down, and do even bigger damage, setting us right back to what we've "enjoyed" these past few yearsValleyGary said:Can’t get any worse can it?3 -
How else can you set this squad up? It’s our best system. Need to scrap some points until January and then bring in a midfielder and winger so we can play it properlywmcf123 said:

And that's the crux of it , we aren't really attractive to anyone decent managerwise so I don't see it changing. You'd be looking at the Rowetts and Ryan Masons as cheap replacements that failed at this level already last season.NabySarr said:

At least now we know that if we go down with Jones, he can get us back... Better the devil you know... Am surprised as so many are scarred from bad owners on here, but are so forgetful over how bad we've done in League One with the wrong Manager.MarcusH26 said:

Id have a lot more faith in a new Manager being appointed if Jones had been given money to spend since we'd returned to the Championship, but last year he had to go for quantity over quality, and this year he got nothing... Changing the Manager wont change that reality.3 -
I've been Jones in and I think I still am (just), but I can't pretend the form isn't worrying.
Watford, Burnley and Norwich have all looked poor, and we lost two and only snuck a draw in the other due to terrible goalkeeping on their part.2 -
Just think as others like Damo have put on here a lot more succinctly than I ever could that there's a lot of factors that have all snowballed into one big mess that a managerial change doesn't fix alone.ForeverAddickted said:

I don't want to go back to being a managerial merry-go-round like we were in League 1.7 -
Jones looks like he wants out to me . Just because we were even worse under Appleton and Russell Slade isn’t a reason not to look for better .ForeverAddickted said:

no

Of course not, and as I've expanded, and as Marcus says... The problem is far deeper than just who the Manager is at the moment, but its an easy target to blame.wmcf123 said:

I don’t think he would do it again. Morale in the club would be at rock bottom and I’m not convinced he has the squad as it is.ForeverAddickted said:

If Jones goes now I actually think he goes with most fans still holding him in reasonably high regard. If he takes us down then personally the credit and good will he has from fans is gone. What he has achieved won’t matter. We have been terrible now for almost a whole season split over the last 2 years. Yes the owners haven’t massively helped this summer, but any manager at any club in any league on the run we are on would be under huge pressure. Another loss next week and unfortunately I think he has to go. The longer we are left in the rot the less chance of a recovery1
-
Think I'm in the "Jones out" camp, but, no idea who can take/will take over.0
-
The fact that people are evening talking about him being the person to get us back up is damning enough. Get someone in now whilst we are out of the drop to actually give it a go rather than this declineDamoNorthStand said:

This for me is the big question! Yes he seems to have run his course and a change of manager would, hopefully, give everyone a boost ... just have no idea who would improve us but also - who would even want to take us on!?fenaddick said:

Sorry mate but the body language was as close in that 2nd half today as I’ve seen to the team not playing for him, and to deny that would just be to make argument.fenaddick said:
Heard that countless times under his tenure but it's never been true. I think we just have a mentally weak squad this seasonBedsaddick said:

If we enter the relegation zone I doubt we leave it. Jones will get the blame and he certainly has been at fault but too many of the players don't give a fuck and the board don't recruit well enough.
We are in shambles it's not just down to Jones but something needs to change I don't know what but if nothing does we are fucked.1 -
I think we’re shit, and I think we might get even more shit when we get rid of Jones and we inevitably end up promoting from within or get some lower league journeyman.
There is no chance this ownership group will be shelling out for anyone with any great pedigree.
And we need someone who can basically perform miracles with this unbalanced under the required ability team.
