So a manager with very little experience, failed at this level last season, and would try and play a brand of football that this squad clearly isn’t capable of. Basically a one way ticket to league 1

If Jones goes now I actually think he goes with most fans still holding him in reasonably high regard. If he takes us down then personally the credit and good will he has from fans is gone. What he has achieved won’t matter. We have been terrible now for almost a whole season split over the last 2 years. Yes the owners haven’t massively helped this summer, but any manager at any club in any league on the run we are on would be under huge pressure. Another loss next week and unfortunately I think he has to go. The longer we are left in the rot the less chance of a recovery
We are very likely to lose next week. I think the Bolton game after that is the key game.

Think as long as the club is actively up for sale , the owners won't want to pay the compo needed. It'll be muddle through until whenever we're sold.
They'll get a lot less if we are relegated though.

I think at this point I am still not sure whether I'm Jones in or out but there is no clear replacement and pulling the trigger spontaneously won't end well. If we enter the relegation zone I doubt we leave it. Jones will get the blame and he certainly has been at fault but too many of the players don't give a fuck and the board don't recruit well enough.

We are in shambles it's not just down to Jones but something needs to change I don't know what but if nothing does we are fucked.
If you can’t make your mind up about jones after watching the last few matches you’ll never make your mind up . He’s lost the dressing room.
Heard that countless times under his tenure but it's never been true. I think we just have a mentally weak squad this season
Sorry mate but the body language was as close in that 2nd half today as I’ve seen to the team not playing for him, and to deny that would just be to  make argument.
Just a different interpretation. I think the body language dropped because they lack confidence and don’t have a leader on the pitch. I don’t think we can absolve the players of the blame

They want to sell a championship club , not a league 1 club, so muddling through could be expensive a mistake for them. They need to sort things one way or the other pretty quickly because we are in free fall.

Sounds like even Jones feels like he's reached the end of his ideas working here.
  • If he goes, which I don't think he will,  People expecting a big name will be disappointed.

Andy Woodman isn't a terrible shout
  • Jones seems utterly clueless - picking names out of a hat? We're getting worse week by week.

Hard to see him keeping us up.

When are we playing Bromley again this season?

Did you see our players passing today? A new manager isn’t going to suddenly mean players don’t give the ball away from what should be simple passes. That is why we don’t try and play football. If Jones does have to go the replacement is going to be someone who plays a similar brand of hard to beat and direct football that Jones used to have us playing

Irrelevant though - it’s not your decision or responsibility to find someone. Any half-decent football club should have a list of potential future managers.

Out!!!! yes I said it and I don't care. Shit negative football, making 4-6 changes every game tell us he is desperate and has no clue. Dropping decent players who have played well for no reason.  Horrible little manager with no clue whatsoever. How have we come into the season with no attacking midfielders and no wingers.  We have been lucky against Wigan, Orient and Shrewsbury all 3 of those games we were awful but got the points we all got excited and thought we were winning ugly and it will only be a matter of time before we start playing well. Well we can all see that is not going to happen. There is no point having a midfield if we are going to just lump it past them to probably one of the worst strikers ever to wear the clubs colours. To make things worse that same shit striker is playing alongside Campbell who was not good enough last season on the wing and should have been sold, but because he has a half decent pre season we have kept him.

Justt a guess but don't think the players like Jones, and think he has pissed a lot of them off already with his shit negative football and stupid demands. To drop Mitchell was just crazy. Then to bring Anderson straight into the team after one of the worst performences ever at Cambridge is remarkable. Today he drops Kane who has been one of the if not best players this season for Watson another weird decision.

I know I am going to get laughed at about who do we bring in and we need to give him time we cant keep doing this, I dont care anymore, every season we get worse and every season we give these shit managers far too long. Yes it begins from the top they are also a pile of shit. But this bloke has all the signs of the wrongun and think we need act now before its too late.
Going back to the original post.
I’ve got to say Nick here was s not too far from being spot on.
Jones is not remotely a decent manager/coach.

I can think of somebody that will disagree with this.

    Lol, what’s the different approach?

We don’t have a right winger, we don’t have a number 10, we don’t have wingbacks.

It’s not irrelevant though is it. If we get rid of Jones it needs to be to bring a better manager in. If we can’t bring one in on our budget then we might as well stick with Jones rather than bring in a worse manager

I accept recent performances/results haven't been good enough but not everything is down to him. He made changes (I think Mesik should've played instead of Edwards) and we're still not good enough due to the state of our squad and lack of investment. I genuinely don't understand what more he can do for the club. He has taken us so far on a shoestring budget and we still haven't been in the relegation places since returning to the Championship!

Sadly, I've got the feeling that those of you that want him gone will get your wish soon enough. I hope you're all happy when we've got some cheap journeyman mug like Gary Rowett in charge as we're relegated back to L1.

When would be the time to give Jones the boot?
If this was to happen who would you like to take over?

What relevance does that have to now?  Those last 12 games of the season were relegation form.

I’m happy that someone is happy to keep watching this shit week in week out.

If you can’t see the we are sliding down the table with every game played then I don’t know what to tell you.
Because you wouldn't shut the f**k up about how we were getting relegated, and then fully... We didn’t get relegated perhaps?
But of course we're back to this same old discussion... Where have I said that I'm happy watching this week in / week out?
Just because I don't agree with the typical reaction of: "Results bad... Must be the Manager... SACK HIM" - For me its the lazy answer in modern Football - Instead I see no evidence that changing the Manager would instantly wave a magic wand and improve things - Just as evidence from the last few years has shown that sacking the Manager can equally result in things turning even worse than what they are... I pointed that out prior to the comments saying: "I'll drive Bowyer to Birmingham myself", yet still resulted in three further years (?) in League One, with some god awful Managers

Could anyone do worse than what has been served up and will continue to be .
    no

Best believe it. Our team is so poor in comparison to others in the Champ. Jones has performed miracles to get us to where we are today.

I have full faith he can keep us up this season, but it will not be pretty and serious questions should be asked of the board and their investment. Fans have to be realistic, we have a bottom 3 budget for the second season in a row, what do you really expect to happen this season apart from a dogged fight for survival?

There is one input at this moment in time that can be changed to alter results and that’s the manager.

    9 games without a win and 5 points from a possible 27.

there is no evidence that this run will end, it’s not just bad luck look at the stats we are in the bottom percentile of essentially all the key ones.

The players for better or worse will not change overnight that just leaves a change in management and seeing if it improves.

What is currently happening cannot continue

IF we get relegated (I don't think we will, as long as the board actually back him in Jan) then I think it would be time for a discussion around his future, but I suspect he would've resigned by then anyway.

I'd rather we go for someone that cares about the club like Bow, JJ or Pearce than a journeyman like Rowett who just takes any job going.

I think he's taken us as far as he can

I just don't think they have the money to sack him

Being a fan of Jones but thinking that perhaps this season could be very tight in staying up, what I would say to the above is that in the scheme of things he has not been given too much money, this surely comes from the fact that the Yanks have not thrown the kitchen sink at it.
They have the money to give him the sack, they need to see that a relegation will cost more than spending more money on better quality players to stay in this division.
That said, the style of football played by Jones is not a good watch and not conducive to success in the Championship.
The board are looking to sell imo and are hoping that Jones can keep us in the Championship, I'll be surprised if they give him the bullet until we are set in the bottom three.

All well and good saying this Naby, but unless you are stevie wonder you would have seen the complete lack of urgency from the majority of our players in the 2nd half to get back into the game. What exactly would you take from that? Is that something NJ can turn around?. Up until today I’ve been in his camp but too many alarming actions took place today to make me think change is needed as we can’t keep doing the same thing and expect different results. Every post match interview is becoming the same.
