I want him gone now, but Tuesday is massive, just don’t think the board have the balls to make a decision

Nothing has really changed from yesterday or last Saturday beyond the fact the team clearly tried today

Even forgetting today’s result, NJ is going to be collateral damage pretty soon, but any real questions or anger needs to be channeled towards the owners/ board. NJ isn’t covering himself in glory by the way, but he really hasn’t been helped and feel he has lost his way as far as getting the players to do the basics as he says. The only reason I’d say NJ out is purely for the change of philosophy and a different voice for the players to hear.
  • A bad performance on Tuesday and I think Jones will be on his way.

And things aren't in his favour. Night games have long since become when we produce some of our worst performances.

The crowd will probably be only about 10,000 (even if announce as a lot more); go a goal behind and the atmosphere will quickly become toxic:

In fact, Tuesday's game has got Crawley written all over it. He was lucky to survive that night and a similar performance on Tuesday will see his luck run out.

Appreciate that sometimes a different voice is needed and that might make a difference. But anyone trying to significantly change our philosophy and way of playing with this group will not do well

I know mate, but we are getting close to a point where we need to try and change otherwise it just continues into the current free fall, people saying like yourself, we were better today etc., and I’m not digging out by the way.Hand on heart does anyone genuinely think that we are going to beat Bolton on current form? I don’t see any reason for any of us to have any expectation to get the result. Part of me isn’t looking forward to the game Tuesday, if they go 1 up the valley will be pretty unpleasant , thought we’d got through those times. Massive game for many reasons I feel.
  • We will win
    He will keep his job
    The addicks will stay up

are my predictions for what comes next

Did anyone think we were going to beat Birmingham, Northampton or Leicester over the last few years? No at the moment you wouldn’t expect us to win, but we’ve turned it around previously after poor runs where people thought it was the end

He needs a win this week or he’s sacked, even I won’t say otherwise. I think we’ve got much more chance of staying up with Jones if he can get a win this week, than with a new manager if we don’t. I just can’t see us bringing in a better manager and short of maybe a new manager bounce for a few games we will run into the exact same problems we have now. But he does need that win or we will have to make the change

In all of those situations the main challenge from us was style of play , not scoring enough, this time we are so fragile throughout the side which is the most concerning. I really hope he gets a result because I don’t want it to go sour for him, but fear the worst.

Before the Birmingham game we’d just shipped 3 at Bristol Rovers, and before Leicester was 4 at Millwall. So it wasn’t just attacking problems

I agree this is the worst it’s looked, and also the worst put together squad we’ve had. Honestly think a new manager will very quickly run into the same problems, so we will have the same problems but probably a worse manager

If Derby sack Eustace I think he’d be a good appointment, but usually managers don’t want to jump straight back in after a sacking. Beyond that I just don’t see a realistic alternative that is at least a similar level to Jones

Think it would be extremely risky to take on a manager that’s just been sacked for the same reason we’ve just got rid of ours, with the NJ comment something will change if we don’t win, the writing looks like it’s on the wall.

    100%

    The geezer has done nothing.
  • Travelled up and down the country last few seasons… natural position was jones in till Christmas. Chanting Nathan jones red army when we were 3-0 down on the 85th minute today. Maybe I shouldn’t take it so personally but for him to walk off and not acknowledge us at the end was a disgrace. Get him gone, don’t spend this much money following them for him to act like that…

    Eustace FFS 😂
In a very similar spot to Jones where he hasn’t been backed this season at all. Last season he had Derby in the top 8 and had done well previously with them and Birmingham

If people are saying no to that CV then I hate to see the reaction to who we end up appointing because it won’t be better than that. Still waiting for anyone to put a name out there?

Everything points to us not having the budget or the squad to attract a good championship manager. The rumour from the ITK on here was that Bowyer is lined up which backs that up. Who would you bring in if it was up to you?

Are you joking? He's spent approx £25-30m since joining including around £10-15m this summer. He's just wasted it.

    John Eustace in the championship:

Kept Birmingham up first season and got them their highest points tally in 8 years
Had them in the play offs second season before he was sacked for Rooney (lol)
Went in to Blackburn and kept them up from the drop
Then had Blackburn in the play offs before leaving for the Derby job
Kept Derby up that season and then finished 8th in his first full season

This season has been a disaster for him, but before that he's had multiple successful years in the championship as a manager, getting teams performing above expectations and budget. 3 times he has gone in and kept teams up from relegation and then had them in the play offs the next season

Do people really think we are going to bring in a manager with a better record than that? If so prepare to be disappointed

Hopefully Jones wins this week and it doesn't come to it. But I think people are deluded if they are turning down a manager with a good record of overperforming at this level, thinking we are going to bring in any better

Parker without question if the board come to their senses and have a massive rethink financially.

    Parker gets teams promoted.

They didn't sign many for fees this summer and one of the ones they did was part of a loan agreement from last season. They are in a similar spot to us where they are waiting for additional investment to come in so didn't spend this summer like they have previously and then also have their best 2 players injured

How do you know it will not be better than Eustace?
Everything points to us not having the budget or the squad to attract a good championship manager. The rumour from the ITK on here was that Bowyer is lined up which backs that up. Who would you bring in if it was up to you?
Parker without question if the board come to their senses and have a massive rethink financially.

    Parker gets teams promoted.
So not a realistic one then because they aren't suddenly going to put enough money in for Parker

Also Parker gets teams promoted when they have the best squad and budget in the league. Anytime he has not had that advantage (which is what it would be like managing us) he's been absolutely terrible

We need a manager with a proven record of being able to punch above their weight. Not one with a proven record of getting parachute teams promoted and then being shit as soon as they don't have the best squad in the league

Still waiting for a realistic option please?

Are you joking? He's spent approx £25-30m since joining including around £10-15m this summer. He's just wasted it.
They didn't sign many for fees this summer and one of the ones they did was part of a loan agreement from last season. They are in a similar spot to us where they are waiting for additional investment to come in so didn't spend this summer like they have previously and then also have their best 2 players injured
Having their whole summer effectively ruined by a takeover that never happened and still not having Agyemang fit won't help things at all.

Has not got a team promoted.
