Just realised Alfie May wasn’t playing second half, had as many touches as he did in the first

NJ will be laughing at the doubters. When he is nullified he is nowhere to be seen!
It's one game. We still don't have much of a goalscoring threat. Time for him to laugh will be when we get promoted.
Matty Godden actually has the second best goals per minute ratio out of anyone who has scored 3 goals or more…….
    OK. Ignore our gd.
  • Sure @seth plum was delighted to see a Josh Edward’s long throw goal

I love being wrong. I should try it more often!
I've always said "I'd rather be happy than right". We will draw a discreet veil over which is more common.
  • I'm really glad we won. But to pretend we have a reliable strike force is delusional.
  • Very frustrating performance in that it’s come after the worst of the season. How can that be the same group of players? How come we couldn’t pass the ball against Bristol. Making mistake everywhere and yet today barely a foot wrong? That was a promotion-winning performance, not a mid-table side.
  • Bloody brilliant!!

    Brilliant
  • Well done lads. Players have rightly been criticised the last few games but it was an excellent performance in terms of skill, work rate and game management. Our pressing was very impressive. Jones deserves massive credit for the way he set us up.
  • Wow. Great performance, we completely nullified Birmingham. Thought it was a decent game too, a high tempo and far less hoofing.

Interesting formation, 442 but very narrow, so more like 4222 swamping the centre of the park. And weirdly both full backs, who were excellent , got forward more than when they've played as wingbacks.

Birmingham may have had ridiculously expensive strikers for this division, but got zero service all game. Subbing May at HT was a massive call by their manager, but Stansfield was no more effective.

Our goal was exactly like a few weeks conceded last season, a long throw into the box allowed to bounce. Great poaching by Godden, who is starting to become the May replacement I hoped he would be. Not as mobile, but 3 good poachers goals.
Mainly because we passed the ball more, it gives them more time to get forward and more chances to get on the ball, regardless of whether they’re FBs or WBs. Both have the fitness to get up and down the pitch too.
  • On holiday and couldn’t watch. Checked score regularly and was so pleased to see the win. I’d resigned myself to a loss. Having read all your positive comments I’m even happier. That’s now the standard this season should be judged. Anything less isn’t good enough. We have proved this group can actually do it. Consistency at a good level will get us top six. Currently in the bar and celebrating the win COYR

Good point. It's usually the home team 🙂
