No idea where that performance came from after the last month, but huge congratulations to everyone who played a part in putting out such a hard working, cohesive performance.
THAT was the Charlton I expected this season and why I’ve been so disappointed we’ve looked a mile away from that.
Lets hope today was the catalyst 👍59 -

Raith_C_Chattonell said:Brilliant cameo from Tyreece Campbell today imo - kept their defence busy while taking the sting out of the game.
The bad news for him is that he's turned himself into the perfect supersub, when you want someone to run at tired defences!3 -
For what it’s worth, you could see the difference in pressing between May & Kanu today @PragueAddick. There’s no way Alfie gets us that ball for Kanu’s first chance and Birmingham looked like they were pressing with 9 men first half as Stansfield was also rubbish at it4
-
May replaced at half time and his Charlton replacement scores the winner. You couldn’t make it up 😂1

Karoy deserves a special mention also today, has had a poor run of performances in recent weeks and had some stick online but was excellent today with his work rate and pressing and used the ball well, could of had a goal if Kanu rolled it across12

There you go....old school 4 4 2. Get everyone working hard and it still works. Birmingham had no answers. They could still be playing now and the wouldn't have scored. Absolutely toothless.1

A few things from today:
Ramsay is our best player currently
The midfield looks better with Docherty in it even if he himself isn't have a storming game
Godden is our goal threat, and we need to work out who should be his strike partner moving forwards
Coventry makes us tick, just get someone else to take corners and free kicks
Leaburn didn't even get on the pitch today, having that in your pocket is a wonderful thing19 -
Someone correct me if i'm wrong, but we haven't actually dropped a single point from a winning position yet all season have we? We also have not conceded later than the 76th minute (league or cup games) and have already equalled the number of clean sheets we had all last season - after just 10 games?
So essentially our "points per goal" premium (a concept I just made up) is so much higher than it was last season or even the season before.14 - Sponsored links:

It was interesting how the Birmingham fans applauded their team for ages after the game.
The thing about us, is that other teams and supporters still see us as a big team. If Birmingham had lost to Stevenage or Bristol Rovers without a shot on target, I'm sure the reaction would have been different.9 -
I think we would have gained an awful lot of respect from that horrible brummy lot after today!0

Didn’t get to see too much of the game. Did Brum really only have 3 shots and 0 on target!? (FlashScores)0

Superb from start to finish.
Well done boys and Jones.
Exactly the response needed.
Today hopefully instills the belief we can compete with the top teams and play with that intensity against everyone and we'll be up there abouts come end of the season.2 -

Would not be surprised if other teams try to copy what we did today.1 -
Thought it was very nice of Alfie to have a half day off today!10
-
That is the standard now, we have to reach that level of commitment and effort every match going forward, no excuses3
-
I definitely would’ve taken 16 points from 10 games. It’s just so disappointing to have lost 3 winnable games on the spin6

Coventry was excellent and do not even think he was deliberately time wasting.2 -
Just got home
What can I say, I was expecting a real drubbing today after our last 3 performances.
To all the people on here who predicted a win I salute you.
I'm off on holiday next week and this is the perfect send off.
Predicting Charlton results would bankrupt me as every time I predict a win we lose and every time I predict a loss we win.
Have a good weekend everyone.

Would Alfie have made that pass? That’s a more pertinent question.3

I know Brum made 5 substitutions and I had to ask my son if Stansfield finished the match (I'm not as sharp as I used to be). Apparently he was there at the end ... how much did he cost?0

Me and the section next to the dug out got a right bollocking motivating speech from Small today, he sorted us out proper- good lad!3
