Think people have read too much into Dixon’s game vs Orient. The entire side was crap that night not just him
Maybe, but I’ve seen him on a few u21 streams and he’s not anymore impressive than the likes of Enslin and Laqeretabua. I see those two as closer to the first team.

The defending is a much lower standard, games are a lot more open and less physical and intense. He’s scored some good poachers goals recently, but outside the box in possession he isn’t constantly tearing teams apart with his pace and dribbling like some may imagine. He has his moments but he’s not too good for u21 level yet.

Getting a loan winger/striker to challenge TC could improve TCs game, allow Ahadme or Kanu to go on loan to improve theirs and give us a stronger squad overall.

Gilbert is the one they want, and been holding out for all window, it has been down to Boro to get a replacement in, but I think now as we get to the end of the window, the player is pushing.
personally I think would be great signing. It might be a loan to start with, but will look to make perm in summer if they can’t get a perm now!

Fingers crossed - this one feels right for some reason. If it happens and we get a pacy winger as well then i think the window would appear to be a success
We have Dixon tearing up the ressies. That's our pacy winger signing. Getting another one in ahead of him would be ridiculous
It really wouldn't. Dixon looked a bit lost when he played in the first team, we need someone that can take the load off Campbell and Small now. He might be ready for next season but it's too much of an ask to expect him to perform regularly if one of those gets injured.
Who's to know how he's developed over the last few months? Signs are good
Err... Jones is? Quite probably in consultation with the coaches who actually work with the youth team. We know Jones isn't opposed to giving kids a chance if he thinks they are ready, so if Dixon is not getting a chance its fairly likely he might in fact not be ready.

I’d also add Jones has done a great job at helping TC develop, I think we should trust him with Dixon. Jones used Kanu last season, but TC has overtaken him by a long way to the point he’s a regular starter and if you believe the club has attracted interest from higher divisions.
i can believe this because he's been our biggest - until recently, our only attacking threat - all season regardless of what i think has been said the stats might say

40 new posts?! Surely something decent finally! No! It’s Dixon of Kuala Lumpur’s turn!

Probably noteworthy that sources are allowing the player to be named on here now… suggests they are either trying to communicate their efforts to the fans or trying to put some pressure on the deal to go ahead I guess

Holding out all window for a 23 year old that has made 5 starts, 3 in the EFL cup, and 20 substitute appearances? Says everything really.

Saying that, pleased to get someone in to bolster the squad and compete for a position we are desperately short in.
And they are trying to get a replacement for him, which is holding up the deal :)

Why would posting on a Football Forum put pressure on the deal to go ahead? You are placing far too much importance on this Forum and Football Forum’s in general. The deal will get done if and when it is right for all parties.

I would hope we have an alternative if we can't get him.   We also need more than one player lined up.

Critical final third of the season coming up!

Boro play Monday night so no clues about Gilbert.
  • I wonder if there’s also an element of NJ not wanting any announcements before today’s game for fear of distracting the team.

Imagine the Walsall fans will be hoping that he doesnt have a wobbly performance with all the rumours flying around.

TC is a year older than Kanu, which does make a difference.

It does but I think TC has the higher ceiling with his technical ability. Not writing off Kanu though, if he puts in the work off the pitch that he does on the pitch he'll make the most of his strengths.

seems we've just signed Dixon so we can call games off for international reasons - doesn't seem to be getting a look in on the first team
Don’t we know that. Cheers Nathan. Had tickets for that match ,got more enjoyment looking around an empty ground than we would have done from that match.

Wouldn’t expect too much from Jones re another winger.🤣

Getting them another 3 points before he signs for us, what a guy, future captain material.
  • Walsall 0-1 Salford... Jellis must really be linked with us, as Cole Stockton has scored the only goal of the game so far, to give him the Charlton treatment

Is Owen Goll as new signing as saying he's just scored for us?

If he scores every week that'd be a great signing

Nice dose of reality there. Jan transfer business can be like buying a house in a chain.
22 other League 1 clubs don't seem to have that trouble.

Poor Mungo Bridge…great name however it looks like going to villa ruined his potential, he’s left villa now and only played 4 games. All the best lad 👍🏻
