Hoping for 3 in (Gilbert , another CM and a Winger/striker) think that would help with a lot of the issues.

I know Cawley completely ruled him out but Moxon wasn't in the Pompey squad today.....

I can’t see three players coming in. I can only see one late on Monday.

We need another attacking midfielder to give us that little bit of extra quality.

Think the squad would get a mental lift from one or even better two fresh bodies coming in.

Let's see what Jones has got up his sleeve.

Sounds like the club are confident of getting at least one done based on that. Jones would be keeping his cards much closer to his chest if there was a chance we did nothing.

Still not expecting more than one though. Maybe if another Kayne Ramsay becomes available…
  • "Pure quality to strengthen the side" are his own words. A big statement from NJ. Will it be backed up by the money men?
  • Ditch Ahadme (alas only loan) and get in Alassame Jatta?

With all due respect forwards are not the problem here. It’s finding a player in midfield who can break down in a defence with a killer pass

Jatta is an interesting one 6ft 4 striker that Notts County signed from Scandinavia last January , 13 goals this season. Don't think he'd quite be the profile we'd be after if we loaned out Gassan or DK.

we have had loads of players who can break down, we could do with one that instead can break open a defence with a killer pass.

Had mates not let into clubs with that body language 🤣 2-2 not the worst result and we aren't far off being comfortably playoffs. Get a cam and a pacy winger in and we are laughing. Would like a starting lcb too, but we can't be too greedy
  • Bring in Baxter from Bolton in goal.
Bindon and Knibbs from Reading for CB and wing.
    Gilbert as a 10.
Job done. Promotion an absolute certainty.
We have plenty of room in the squad.

It would be great to have a new senior keeper, Lcb, 10 and winger/attacker but that's not going to happen now. I'd be happy if we get Gilbert and Small signs a new deal.

Decent interview from Jones after the game, seems like he is putting the pressure back on the board by saying he wants to sign players and weather or not that will happen or not is another thing. Hopefully we get a minimum of 2 in a attacking mid and a winger with pace, ideally 2.

There will definitely be signings. The better question is will they be our prime (or next choice) targets, players that we've been waiting to sign all month... or will they be Plan K signings, when you can't get what you want, and have to settle for a couple of "squad filler" players who are available.

    Two days to find out.

This guy makes Pratley look like an u9. And he's a central midfielder according to FM, just what we need!

If you are comparing our chances of signing a L1 keeper out of contract in 6 months and from London, 2 league one players from a club in financial distress and a Championship player we are almost certainly trying to sign to Haaland and Van Dyke then we really are skint!

Gilbert is the one they want, and been holding out for all window, it has been down to Boro to get a replacement in, but I think now as we get to the end of the window, the player is pushing.
personally I think would be great signing. It might be a loan to start with, but will look to make perm in summer if they can’t get a perm now!

Fingers crossed - this one feels right for some reason. If it happens and we get a pacy winger as well then i think the window would appear to be a success
We have Dixon tearing up the ressies. That's our pacy winger signing. Getting another one in ahead of him would be ridiculous
seems we've just signed Dixon so we can call games off for international reasons - doesn't seem to be getting a look in on the first team
Cause he no where near ready …

Considering we don’t live in a football manager game it’s completely unrealistic to believe that 1 we would sign all these players in January and 2 that it guarantee promotion. Reading have just sold Smith for 2 mill and it’s been very clear they are unwilling to let their talent go unless it’s for top dollar. We have what are considered 2 first team keepers at the club currently, without moving one on we would never in a million years sign a third.

Again this is real life not a game

As much as I’d love it, the only way Bindon becomes a Charlton player is if he stays there the rest of this season, we get promoted, the owners decide to spend a few million in the summer and he doesn’t have any Premier League / top end Championship interest..!

Would be surprised if he doesn't go top end championship in this window. Think someone will make Reading an offer they can't turn down.

Dick Van Dyke is a game old guy. More chance of us getting him than Virgil van Dijk.

Looks like Boro’ are set to sign a wide man from Villa which may free up Gilbert?

Rumours from the Middlesbrough end that Gilbert might end up at Swansea.

Why is the vast majority of other clubs seem to have dome their work before the windowvopens and then get transfer deal over the line way before the closure of the window and do nothing.
