The Aussies might well win this game by 10 wickets with their top runs scorer in the first innings being their number nine. That probably has never happened before in Test cricket.

5 for Neser as Smith takes another in the slips

241 all out and Australia need 65 to win

Neser becomes the most bang average player since Ollie Robinson to grab an Ashes 5fer

    Absolutely gifted that.

Or in these conditions,  a skilled medium pacer is very effective.

Indeed Robinson might have been dangerous here

Carey and Smith have taken 21 catches between them in the two matches. We've probably dropped that many!

Atkinson getting slapped around with the ball now too.

    Get him gone.

So Jacks and Stokes quick counter attacking tons. 50s for Atkinson and Carse. Then bowl at them under lights with a new ball. All out 150. Jobs a good'un
I set my alarm for 4.30. @cantersaddick might get a bit of a nice surprise when he finally surfaces at 10.00 to find that we still haven't lost a wicket but more so from the unlike Bazball methodology in achieving that.
Had a bit of the Schrodingers Ashes when I woke up. Do I check the score and put myself out my misery or stay in blissful ignorance!!

32-0 at dinner off 5 overs and 32 still required.

What a frustrating read that was (not down to any of you I may add). If only we’d had two more partnerships like the Stokes/Jacks one we might have a fighting chance here. If we’d played like that Day 2 of the first test we probably win it

    Head chops on to Atkinson

    37-1

Never really liked cricket anyway. Always preferred the tiddlywinks

Atkinson has Labuschagne caught behind. Oh for another 150 runs in the match.

    41-2

2 more partnerships across the maych puts us right in it. So frustrating as it was in our hands but we gave away wicket after wicket.

With these wickets Atkinson is bowling himself back into selection for the next test too

The 2 wickets will do Atkinson the world of good. He's bowled nicely since the interval.

Yeah I like to see Stokes making 50 off 152 balls, it shows he can still do that when needed. There a couple of batsman he needs to have a word with, if he's not already.

Embarrassing from Archer this. Totally rattled by Smith

Australia win by 8 wickets. Another unnecessary thrashing.

Think this is the first time Stokes I think that has been publicly honest about the performance in saying that talent isn't enough if you allow pressure at those vital times to get to you. Make no mistake he will be absolutely laying into the likes of Brook in the dressing room on that count. Whether Brook reacts to that is another thing.

Smith chirping when the game is all but won.

The Gus Atkinson dismissal pretty much sums up this whole sorry mess.
A player completely incapable of reading the room.

Can say that about a lot of the batters as well to be honest. Would imagine there will be a few interesting conversations with Pope , Brook and Smith amongst others

So would if I was in his position.

To be fair that was after Stokes had got out. With just 9, 10, 11 left we were unlikely to last for a meaningful length of time, especially with the floodlights on.

Looking back, for all the failings with the bat, allowing Australia to bat on until halfway through Day 3 killed us. The runs, but also having to bat under the lights with a new ball. They were 329-6 at one point. Get them all out for 411 instead of 511, we would have batted far longer when it was daylight on Day 3, and the Aussie bowlers would have been more tired in the nighttime session.

Mcullum is really starting to batten down the hatch's. After being asked about preparation before the tour he said "if anything we have trained too much". Guess that means more days on the golf course.

Stokes comes out about maybe the mentality isn't there. I hope he doesn't mean that in a cult like way. Some of the players are letting the team down by not truly believing the doctrine of bazball.

I've stuck a bet on the Aussies to win 5-0 (odds of 3/2) and will wait for the winnings to hit my account. Too depressing following these arrogant brain-dead players while they toss away the best chance they'll ever have to win the ashes in Australia.

That was interesting listening to Stokes there. He is right, be as good in the nets and show the world younhave every shot in the book and can whack massive sixes. Its all utterly pointless though if you are unable to understand the situation you are in especially with the bat.

Brook is definitely in his sights I'd say, a moronic dismissal.

From my own perspective I am annoyed as it wasn't like the kind of horrible defeat against a side with Warne, Lee, McGrath all being dangerous and delivering great ball after great ball. The Australian bowlers I don't think were exceptional and we somehow were worse
