To be fair to Smith, one discipline can feed into the other. He's not as good a gloveman as Carey but is a much better batsman than he has shown. I would assume the next keeper we'll see will be which of the Rew Brothers decides to keep. Or possibly Jordan Cox takes the gloves and gets a chance at 3 at some stage.
