Whatever our allegiances and the rights and wrongs of him not keeping, one has to admire Pant for his grit and determination let alone entertainment value.

That must have been one of the biggest hits for zero runs. And next ball Pant is cleaned up. Perhaps he should have taken the single.

Thank god the Pant love in will stop. He's hurt his foot, they're making out like he's played with no arms

Hate to say it but I can't see Crawley lasting for long.

Too right. Nothing like Paul Terry facing the fastest group of bowlers known to cricket, in the shape of the West Indies attack, with a broken arm. That would not be allowed these days one suspects.

There is a lot of swing and seam today. I think Crawley and Pope will get single figures. I think Bumrah will cut through us like a hot knife through butter. I think we will be all out for 150.

Crawley needed this innings. On his way to 50.

Fair play to Crawley. Batted well so far.

These innings are why I really like him, if he can get some consistency then Crawley and Duckett is a brutal combination

We're seeing the benefit of the Left/Right opening combi. Bumrah lost his line a number of times in that spell.

And now we are into the change bowlers who arent looking particularly threatening.

    50 for Crawley.

Took us 12 less overs to get to 96 compared to India. Going some.

According to the BBC text commentary just now, there have only been 22 times in history when an England opener has reached 50 at faster than a run a ball. Duckett (9) and Crawley (4) are responsible for 13 of the 22, the rest of England test history put together has the other 9.

15 off of Jadeja's first over. Not letting him settle.

Any idea what time close of play is ? Is it 6.30 or have they added on any time from the overs lost yesterday due to rain ?

Good innings from Crawley. Disappointing that he couldn’t get his 100, but absolutely would have taken 166 for the first wicket. Thought we’d be at least 5 down before reaching that amount of runs after the way the ball was moving for us this morning. Bet Pope goes cheaply here, though.
